BUGs I am aware of :

  1. The lighting in the map is erratic(ground too), plz don’t comment without an idea of fixing them.
  2. An objdata line comes as an error…I will fix it for next release.

Other than that; I hope it finds a place amongst the many map releases that have come lately. I had to create a shader for the flames on the barrier, they setstate invisible without giving off light.

Tank barriers leave a burning tree or rubble when destroyed. The tower sets smoke and zappy wires when blown. Christmas trees are built all over the map when the final objective is built(1 snowman also). More…

Allied Objectives:
Command post(of course)
Destory the tank barriers ( if built )
Escort the tank to the hill walls
[Tank blows 2 walls open.]
Dynamite the Radio tower that sends out the axis Ba-humbug messages
(Blowing up the Radio tower will allow the next thing)
Decorate (build) a building with a christmas decorations which fill the Axis hearts with glee.

Axis Objectives
Command post
Build tank Barriers
Stop the tank’s movement
Defend the Radio Tower
Stop the Allies from filling your building and your heart with Christmas cheer!!!

same here, i got a christmas map, so were trying to get it finished for new year, hell im gona take some screenies

Ok, I am closer to done and here are some more screens. These are still -meta process.

top Left : radio tower being dynamited
top Right: After effect (custom shader for the electric wires-voltage flashes)
the other images are the of the X-mas tree being built and after it is built(note: Several are built all over the map along with a snowman !!!)

Now as for the next set ;

top : prior construction
middle : Tank barrier constructed
bottom : tree on fire from barrier explosion

I also added a Bar-B-Que that triggers hot meals (20 hp) when touched with a wait command of 30 or so. Silly things make maps fun I think!!!

some images are missingin the pk3(editor images), just control panel type stuff.

map has a lot of uneven terrain that you can see the caulk. very choke pointed at the end. lots of missing textures. the top right axis spawn has a warning on it. allies 1st spawn had a texture that needs to be rotated, it is by the left of the hut. I had seen a few others that have the same problem, can’t remember where. a few places i get really really bad fps. most maps i get 80-240fps. on this map i get 40-80 fps (mostly 40-50 though). there is a spawn, i think the one i mentioned for axis (all blue when you spawn) i get 27 fps.

other than that, decent map.

The caulk in the ground is bugging me too, it seems whenever I compile with a func_group from easygen, that it randomly chooses locations to expose caulk.

What was the warning on the axis spawn ?
What texture needs rotation at allie spawn ? (All of my texture orientations are fine.)
Since you get 27 fps at that spawn I will check it out…but as for the other fps…I get 90 max -> 55 avg. in this map.

Spawn points will be changed around, I always knew that radio axis spawn point was ‘not good’.

thanks buddy, but I meant the other stuff…I know the ground has problems I need to recreate the shaders.

Those hard edges by the towers look funny huh ? I laugh at them every time I look at them.
Oh, crap !!! I just realized in the pic that I forgot to add the icicle shader…hahahahaha…I am so absent minded after making a map.

Sorry to bump this old thread, just wanted to warn people about one thing: this map modifies the Gold Rush tank textures (just wasted 20 minutes trying to find out which map was to blame :twak: ).

No offense meant EB, I don’t even remember if I liked the map… :slight_smile:

NP…but that means I released the wrong files…I apologize. This also means there is a bug that allows Dynamite and bullets etc. to go through the barriers.----- Hmmmm…I no longer have the files (to make a beta2)anymore after my computer crashed last month…so be warned if you use this map…

The map wasn’t anything great anyways.
