Choppy Audio

(amethystHammer) #1

For some reason, I’m experiencing terribly choppy audio while playing online matches. It doesn’t happen during training or when there are only two or three people playing. But full servers make the game almost unplayable from a sonic perspective. Any thoughts?

Is it just voice choppiness or is it all audio? It looks like you are saying all audio though. It would most likely be a network lag issue if you meet specs for the game. What are you system specs?

Does it happen in a full 6v6 AND a full 8v8? Just curious if there is any difference for the audio between a 12 player room and a 16 player room.

What is your mbps download rate that you get from your ISP?

Have you tried reinstalling the game? I know this is extreme, but if the issue bothers you enough then give it a shot.

@amethystHammer Are you noticing any FPS drops?

We can look into it further if you send in a ticket at.

I noticed this problem myself. It has to do with your FPS dropping.

I experienced this whenever I was recording using OBS and my settings were messed up, causing myself to lag while playing. The audio got all robotic and messed up, and my FPS dropped slightly.

So to conclude, this is most likely your computer not handling the game properly. Maybe try tuning down the graphics a bit?

If this still doesn’t work, feel free to reply and I can try helping you further, or enter a ticket with Radrodo’s link above my comment

Thanks for all your help, guys. Here’s where I stand.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. The chop is still there.

I updated my audio drivers. The chop is still there.

I dialed my resolution and graphics settings down to the lowest possible settings. Interestingly, it made no appreciable difference in the audio’s choppiness.

For what it’s worth, my computer’s guts are an Intel® Core™ i7-4700HQ CPU @ 2.40GHz; 13 GBs of RAM; and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M with 2 GBs of video ram. (It’s an ASUS RoG G750JW-DB71.)

Seems like either client side or something in your computer isn’t hooked up properly.

All you can do now really is enter a ticket and see if a future update or a much more professional tech support can help you out.
