Chipset drivers! Halp needed.

Okay, so I heard that maybe updating your chipset drivers can help on some of the FPS loss in Brink.

I’ve got an Asus M4A77 (http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=M4A77&p=1&s=24) Motherboard and I drop down to the Windows 7 64-Bit section and select the newest (the first; AMD Chipset Driver V1.3.2.54 for Windows 32bit/64bit Vista & Win 7.) chipset drivers and download them.

I extract the “Chipset” -folder onto my Desktop and open it. There’s 2 folders and 2 files;
Vista -folder, XP -folder and AsusSetup.exe and AsusSetup.ini. I run the AsusSetup.exe and I get ATI Catalyst installer!? I check the Custom installs and there’s no such thing as AMD Chipset drivers listed, only the god damn Display drivers and some other bullcrap.

I need halp on downloading the correctum chipset drivers for my Asus M4A77. God damn AMD is so hard to use.:stroggtapir::stroggtapir::stroggtapir::stroggtapir:

You may want to contact Asus support for this.

You have the correct package. The Catalyst thing shows up no matter what you are installing.

Yeah well like I said, I checked the Custom install to see what I can choose to install and what not to, and there was no AMD chipset drivers listed. :confused:

If you feel better about it, just manually browse down into the driver folders there and run the executables manually instead of running the Asus Setup utility. They are in \Chipset\Vista\Packages\Drivers\SBDrv\Filter\NB

Interestingly enough, here’s an article that details what a pain this can be, especially with your specific chipset as AMD doesn’t make it very easy to get to them directly. It also includes something you might try as a workaround if you find the ones provided by Asus aren’t completely up to date. Just scroll down to the section regarding the 770 chipset specifically here:
