Cheaters in Ranked; Please Add a Way to Cancel Games

I just played in a ranked match. It became pretty clear about half way through that one guy on our team was cheating. We had around 4k each and he had over 10k, all of his kills were headshots. By the time he had 20k and was one-manning their spawn there was almost no doubt.

So what were we supposed to do? We started on defense and had 8-10 minutes left, so if we kick this donkey dick we end up in a 4v5 and an almost assured loss. Even if we kick him it’s not like it is a huge negative to him, he just joins another ranked match and continues to do it. He was already gold, so he’s been at it for a dozen+ games.

What would be really nice is a cheater or dropped player vote where a strong majority of both teams would cancel a game with no rank change. Of course there’s potential for abuse, but personally I think it would be worth it to be able to end a ranked match if it had a cheater or some dip who dropped right away.

I’ve had two matches with an extremely obvious hacker two days in a row, and now I’m close to deranking because of it.

The first time it happened, most of us were friends so we actually managed to run in front of the guy and punish him enough to get him kicked, and then bring the match to a draw, but the second time one person on the enemy team supported him and stopped us from fixing it.
It was absolutely retarded that SD removed vote kick from ranked, because even then most players have enough decency to deliberately draw a match, but you’re right, there needs to be some kind of vote to cancel a game.

vote kick has been removed from ranked?! thats asinine!!

simply allowing for a ‘cancel match’ vote, majority in both teams have to win individually (3/5
in both teams, and not 5/5 and 1/5 vote spread)

Slightly off topic, but do ranked games that have a cheater in them become null and void if the cheater is banned?

I ask because my m8 and I, who always play together, both ranked up randomly.

We assumed that a cheat had been banned and our ranks adjusted to show that.

Don’t forget to report the player. It’s like voting, but in the long term.

But still doesnt help with the current game and the victims are the ones that lost when they should have won and possibly deranked when they should have increased in ranked. And youl never see victims on loosing team get compensated when cheater is confirned and banned. And what about the pleby trolls team killing what about that teams loss

Vote kick was removed from ranked with the current season. It really is terrible that they removed the option and I don’t understand why. I get that there always is the possibility for abuse, but there’s more opportunity for abuse with the vote kick removed. But yeah, an agreement to cancel a match would be nice, though I doubt it would be used by the winning team in the case of a hacker. Sadly, not everyone likes to play fair.

the problem aswell is that the side that HAS the cheater on, may know he is cheating but why would they kick him if they know they can get a win, i think i know who this cheater is the first time i came across this guy was when he was a silver master and now i think he is a Gold officer? for obvious reasons i cannot name him, but i wish the EAC would be a little faster to spot them, cant players have a TEMP ban imposed if they have enough reports say 20 reports against a suspect player = a TEMP ban, and an immidiate ivestigation starts?

Sure a cancel option wouldn’t be used by everyone, but having the option is a lot better than it is now.
I know people who wouldn’t mind not winning. Granted it’s not everyone, but I believe it would help a lot.

While waiting for a vote kick that may not even pass I’m just gonna teamkill and report the cheater.

grinding a higher rank at season end is a much more efficient way to get ranked points than those 10 from a loss. i think its safe to say most people care about rank more than those 10 points

I doubt it, but its also odd that your rank changed on its own… so only a dev can tell you at this point. Feel like it would be too much work to revert progress made on this games though, and it would also punish the people who won (the members who weren’t cheating)… unless of course it was only rolled back for the losing team. hmm.
