Cheaters in Dirty Bomb

(sunshinefats) #61

On a related note to this ^ I tried to join a server the other night and it told me my level was too high, so maybe SD are implementing some level-filtering already?

(Mustang) #62

It says it in the server name, level 6 and under only.

(Szakalot) #63

there are max lvl 6 servers.

(BomBaKlaK) #64

yep but there is no opposite : min level 7 to play
Looked through recent negative steam reviews, and again mostly complaints about P2W and hackers.

I think the game could really benefit from level-filtering players, esp. since open beta/release all those alpha die-hards should be isolated from the poor newbies. Imo the best way to provide an incentive is to increase $$$-income rate for high-level servers:

 • good players will want to play on high level servers to get more $$$
 • new players will be free to play against other new players, without all that ‘HAAXZ’ drama
 • better income rates for high-level servers will ease off the grind a little
 • high-level servers will also motivate people to keep on playing and leveling up
I probably sound like a broken record, but I really think it’s all about getting ranked matchmaking started. This is where us try hards should piss off to and leave the new or casual players alone. Not to mention that ranked matchmaking will fix a ton of common complaints from more serious players, like (possibly) friendly fire, 5on5, balanced teams, punishments for leaving, etc.

It may seem hopeless for now, but I think that once rankings are properly implemented, as well as better queue information, bonus credits, etc, the community can pull together and make it work (for starters by agreeing to play ranked matchmaking at certain times). This still requires some work by the dev team, but that’s why I think this should be the focus rather than trying to create the same separation of serious and casual players on casual servers alone (which also requires additional work).

Aimbot, wallhack, advertising- the works. I recorded a video, but his steam alias should be proof enough along with his stats.

from 6:40 it’s very obvious

ObeyHim!

Sick bodyshoots!

Ps.: I’m kinda sad there is no Kill-cam in the game, spotting these would be much easier and faster.

obvious wallhack, and possibly a humanized aimbot

New cheater wave this days …

While we continue to work on improving out anti-cheat package, please report specific hackers to Nexon at customersupport@nexon.net, ideally with some video evidence.
We are working on improving out anti-cheat solutions to pick-up and prevent more hacks.

For the time being, please report specific hackers to Nexon at customersupport@nexon.net, ideally with some video evidence from spectator. From there we can do some investigation ourselves to verify the reports.

While we’re still Closed Beta, we can ban players we find hacking on servers and they’ll have a hard time getting back in. I believe over 50 hacking accounts have been suspended already.

Before we go open, we know we need to be much better at preventing hackers and have in-game reporting systems since players will be able to keep coming back.
sad to see humanized aimbots made it into the game. Playing against a player like that I don’t think I’d be comfortable saying ‘yeah he hacks for sure’ as good players will have similar TTK.

Even though its pretty obvious from speccing (aiming at players through walls, snapping between targets, extremely consistent mouse-look speed)

i hope echo stats will be helpfull here.
even if its humanized. the reaction times and accuracy can be distinguished from those of real ppl (of top level)

i dunno, going through that video the ‘reaction time’ is much slower than what a twich quake3 player would achieve, but consistency is an issue (once the aimbot gets on top of the head, it won’t let go)

While such Echo data could support video evidence, it will never be able to fish out cheaters on its own. Esp. with a noob like in the video, who gets knifed without even noticing where from.

In the end it will be to individual game/tournament admins to find&kick cheaters, and features like in-game replays would solve A LOT of the problems already.

He’s obviously using a wall hack, I’m not convinced he’s using an aim bot. His accuracy was very high in Echo but I could easily imagine a good player, with a wall hack, being able to match that accuracy.

Either way he’ll be on the ban list shortly.

Going to close this thread for now, to avoid more reports being added to it. Smooth has given details above on how to report hackers if you do spot them.
