Not cheap at all in fact. Our clan rents a full root server with 300GB traffic for 49€ / month :-p. It hosts our website and our 3 20-slot public servers plus a private warserver 
:D. Clans with a little Linux knowledge can do great deals if they keep their eyes open.
BTW Mike for a first post you made a bad impression. Go spam somewhere else.

Agreed. You can find a complete Linux server, 1.7Ghz w/ 512MB of RAM and a 1000GB/month cap for $60US. $50/month just for a map-testing server is nothing but spamming the boards. If it was like… $10/month, maybe it would perk up ears, but not at the full cost of a full-blown server somewhere else. Because let’s face it… the servers will be mostly empty most of the time if they’re for testing maps. =^.^=
