Character for each side?

Stupid question, do I need to create a separate character for each factions or can I create one character and play both sides while on-line?

Wondering about server pop, auto team balance issues…

No, you do not. When you enter a game, you will be placed on a side accordingly (teams are usually balanced as far as numbers go). And you can also switch teams mid-game also.

So far, the only reason I have seen for picking a side during character creation is that that is the character you see in the main menu. Unfortunately, I picked Security and I think Resistance appearance looks a lot better than Security’s bland clothing/armor.

So the costume unlocks are purely for single player?

No they are not .

And when you are in character creation, you can switch from resistance to security
in the upper right corner. It’s the same guy for both =)

You have the same button on the weapon customisation screens so you can have different set ups of the same weapon for either side.
