Id love if Dirty Bomb would have character customisation ontop of the card colours. Something like the better rarity your card is the more things you can unlock or buy for the look of your merc, example helmet for Fragger.
Character customization.
I think every single Dirty Bomb player in history has wanted this and most have asked for it on the forums at some point in time too. Unfortunately it probably isn’t ever going to happen, for reasons we will never understand, much like many things that Dirty Bomb has needed since day 1 that have never been implemented.
They went off on a tangent as far as I can tell, at least when you look back at what they said they wanted to do with Dirty Bomb back in their know your heritage video and now in my eyes they are just lost.
But when they can’t even seem to get a decent cosmetics system going and then proceed to make it twice as bad by adding the crafting/recycling system instead, it’s hard to imagine they will ever have decent cosmetics in Dirty Bomb.
We’ve all wanted actual cosmetics instead of the loadout / cosmetic combo for years. No idea why they even changed it in the first place.
slight problem with that sort of thing is once you get a helmet, someone is going to immediately demand it give damage reduction and reddit will explode with fury not seen since the last time
Did it ever happen with the the Founders Fragger, or with Arty for that matter?
Considering the awesome job SD had done with the customization in Brink, the lack of a proper system in DB remains one of its most disappointing aspects… :’(
Brink style customization would be great, people would pay a fortune for that level of being unique
They can demand all they want, but their stupid idea doesn’t need to be acknowledged. I stopped playing quite a few “F2P” FPS games because of things like this. Cosmetics are cool. Abilities/effects from cosmetics are also cool… in a single-player RPG or MMO.

I agree, one of the things that draws me to this game is that all the mercs look the same, with only minor changes in colour due to loadouts (with the exception of founders of course, but that’s rare).
I don’t want to see anything that majorly changes merc appearance like other PVP games, certainly not if they come with actual effects.
Knowing exactly how many shots it takes to kill a merc is something I really like about this game.

Yeah, I like to know that there’s no special armor or boosts to make anyone (especially higher levels) stronger. It’s all about skill and experience. There’s no shortcuts to getting good except hacks.
However, I actually like a lot of cosmetics and don’t even mind the outrageous ones. Just depends though. I wouldn’t want anything TOO distracting. But… at the same time, I kinda do. How about giant ball sack pants for after I kill someone and decide to teabag them?

I usually dislike cosmetics that alter the character shape because it changes how you play the game. As it is, characters are all extremely identifiable, even if it’s just from one part of their body.
check out some of the Brink customization vids on pootube to see what should be done

well i sure still can differentiate the normal proxy and other obsidian when i saw it play.
Why do you need it?
We just got amazing new trinkets that every player in Dirty Bomb has always wanted. Hopefully we will keep getting trinkets because I mean come on, why would anyone want useless skins when you can attach incredibly useful items to your weapon that every other player can see and say “wow, you’re so cool”
I would pay for customization. Can you hear me SD ? Pay with real money. That I would give to you, Splash Damage. That founders Sawbonez <3
I would also pay for some GOOD trinkets, unique to each merc (like a small turret, a health pack…)
It takes 3 and a half fucking months to add a merc and more than 1 and a half years to get out of beta yet you expect them to add customization.
I like your enthusiasm though.

Do we have it now. Is the question.
