So, I’ve got my autoexec all ready and shish but how do I change my field of view from there? Halp plz.
Changing FOV. (Derp Question)
So for instance in my autoexec all I need to put in is ui_fov 100 and that’s it? No seta or anything else?
Only those who have ascended to Brink demi-fiend-god-cheese can enable FOV bla.
I heard the FOV is done vertically instead of horizontally so you’ll need to use REMOVED to calculate the correct FOV.
I haven’t tried to change the FOV myself yet so I don’t know.
EDIT:
Nope, that can’t be correct. The FOV must be calculated horizontally not vertically because the default FOV is 70. If it was 70 vertically than the FOV would be very wide.
So yeah, just change the FOV like you normally would, no FOV calculator needed.
I found that a few minutes ago actually, updated my FOV and about to see how it looks.
I changed my FOV but I honestly don’t see a difference. Can anyone make sure I’m putting it in right? This is exactly what I put into my autoexec; seta ui_fov 84

WTH it says use FOV 54 for 1920x1080… wouldnt 54 be like using binoculars lol?
Found out that’s incorrect. That’s what someone on the forum told me but when I tried it myself I found that it is definitely wrong.

No, it works for all games with a vertical FOV. However, Brink doesn’t use a vertical FOV so it it useless.
To make sure it’s working, in-game open the console (ctrl + alt + tilde). Then type ui_fov, that will tell you what the current FOV is set at and what the default FOV is (70).
Also, you can actually permanently change the FOV just by using the in-game developer console. You don’t need to use an autoexec.
For example: Type “ui_fov 90” (without quotes) and your FOV will stay 90 even when you exit the game.
Bring up the console and type ui_fov 90 in or whatever while in game, you will see a difference.
[to bring up the console press ctrl alt `]
