Exactly why there isn’t a report button ingame?
Changes to Anti-Hack Policies – Zero Tolerance
Just not yet implemented as there are more critical issues to adress, but it’s supposedly in the works!
So my friend just saw a hacking rhino in a casual server. It was HILARIOUS, but also OP as hell. Minigun getting headshots at ridiculous ranges. Guy was like 85/2 camping their spawn on underground.
I have reported it, but damn was it funny to watch his stream. That rhino was flipping around target to target at crazy speeds killing a quad+ in less than a second due to that guns potential DPS.

Why not show people’s names?
Because that’s against the forum rules. What he did is perfect, it allows him to illustrate his point without starting a name&shame issue.
@CC_FANG Do we get a confirmation of the outcome when we report cheaters? So far I’ve only seen tickets closed with no actual information regarding what happened.
Sorry if this has already been answered.

I’ve never known Nexon to do this, other than an occasional mention of someone who is exceedingly blatant. Basically they can’t discuss another user’s account with you is why.
I’m not sure how they are handling various aspects regarding bans, since the game is through Steam and user accounts are handled differently, they are doubtless having to make new policies. For example in other games we can check a Wall of Shame for a listing of banned/suspended users, or view their profile page which shows if they are banned or suspended. Probably not the information you want, but hope it helps a bit

Ok I get it then, but it raises another question: why a name&shame issue? If you cheat, you should know what’s coming for you and if you don’t, then exposing your name won’t matter. Furthermore, the game itself is public, people are allowed to stream it without having to blackout names and if I join a game I can see who I am playing with and against, no hiding there. So this measure seems a bit like arbitrary censure to me. Unless you have concrete examples of what it is supposed to achieve, I’m just not getting it.
I totally agree that real hackers deserve to be name and shamed. The no name and shame rule exists to protect those falsely accused from getting a bad name. And people get falsely accused all the time.

I’ve been falsely accused of cheating soo many times that I lost count long time ago. Doesn’t give me a bad name overall. Just those who thought I am cheating are those who kept on sticking to that idea. Those who weren’t close minded sw past that anyway and I never got a bad name with those, which incidentally are the majority.
I myself have called some players cheater over the years and even in this game, and it only changed my perception of them and those who thought the same did so not because of me. Just as those who dissagreed did it because of their own volition.
In the end a false accusation is something that is easily shrug off as it is not the reality. This rule only protects the real cheaters. And I think that a shame list would be a good idea, so that people would recognize cheaters and could kick them from their game from the beginning instead of having an half a game ruined just to give time to people to realize that person is cheating…
PS: never been called a cheater in Dirty Bomb though.
There’s a big difference between being accused in a game where everyone who sees the accusation can see you play to randomly stumbling across an accusation on a forum. Especially if mindless followers support the accusation with follow up posts.

I figured it was going to be a privacy issue but thought i may as well ask anyway, thanks for the info and the quick response

Even so, an accusation on forum needs even tougher proof then an accusation in-game where one can see if one is or not cheating. And regarding mindless followers, I like to believe that the DB community is smarter than that, but I might be wrong.
In any case, I’m not trying the get the rules changed, I care to little about cheaters to make a fuss about wanting them to be shamed. Just got poked by this censure that otherwise isn’t present in the game.
There is a cheater lately who is using rhino. Lvl 19. Competitive and pub. He’s still playing. FFS do something. He’s ruining our experience both in competitive and pub.
[url=“http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/10662/how-to-report-a-hacker#latest”]Have you tried reporting him?
I’m worried about this policy… I heard some people get autobanned by the anti-cheat without even cheating and I’m afraid it migiht happen to me because of several games I’ve played before that does this. It’s either they mistake BitDefender as a hack or their anti-cheat is just shit. In this case, XIGNCODE is shit. I’ve played an FPS before that XIGNCODE killed because it recognized all Win7 users as hackers rendering the game irreprably unplayable, til now. Game pop dropped by 40%. GG. I fear that XIGNCODE might fuck this up again.

I don’t really see naming and shaming as the issue. Hackers live for stories like 1x1x1x1. Personally, I think the no naming and shaming rule more importantly prevents hackers from getting the glory, fame, and attention they want. What if some guy was a blatant hacker who always used the same username and picture and always said the same catchphrases? He might get a fanclub on steam or some highly rated artwork on the artwork page. Then it’d look like hacking is glorified, which, many people hate hackers and believe they ruin the overall experience of a competitive game.
imho the biggest issue with naming and shaming is that the player isn’t always a hacker. Yes, there are some cases where it is obvious that a player is hacking, but it is those cases in between where a player wants to believe that they lost because the enemy was hacking.
The problem is that rules generally deal in absolutes and if we start making exceptions to rules then it becomes impossible to enforce them effectively.
False accusations are no joke. I get called a cheater in just about every second game. Would really piss me off to see my account disappear because I’m playing well. The flattery has more than worn off on me by now.
I don’t suppose reporting people for falsely accusing players is a thing, now is it? The cycle usually goes: someone calls me a cheater, people buy in and get frustrated, a few players quit, the game becomes imbalanced and my team ends up in their spawn killing everyone, making more people quit. It’s a vicious cycle.
