Changes to Anti-Hack Policies - Zero Tolerance

(acQu) #121

Solution:

  • provide ingame log files per match (who, where) PER GAME and add an extra menu to include that in the new hack-report category
  • some obvious proof, like providing a max 2 mins video => functionality ingame to shadow play (like mentioned with the nvdia cards somehwer in this threa) and to provide to the log

=> a menu called “hacker report” needs to be added that way (with video and log)

It is really not that hard to do, is it? So go! Instead of doing nothing!

Also: There should be an option for a team to just give up via callvote. In ET this was a common thing. Also helps the ‘non-cheater’ cause, cause this is really useful (reasons are obvious).

EDIT ok, maybe it is not that obvious, cause you have to use your brain to think around 1 corner. In case of hacking, the ‘give up’ via callvote is good, cause it lets a team give up against a hacker. Cause there is no point in playing against a hacker, and so the whole team should be able to give up to move on without penalty.

The 2nd reason @non-hacker issue: just look at ET. Really good for a comp team to just give up an already lost game.

(Phantomchan) #123

I’m really getting tired of this bull****, once more I have encountered a hacker on the opposite team which played Vasilli and just mass murdered everyone. Everyone at our team called him out as he was obviously hacking, but you can’t votekick someone from the opposite team. The dirty bastards they were, they did nothing because it’s a free win for them, so why would they? This is just so darn flawed and I’m getting sick of it.

(Szakalot) #124

actually, at the moment; NOBODY can be kicked out of a comp game.

(Phantomchan) #125

It wasn’t even a comp game. I don’t even want to play competitive due to all the stories I have heard and from my own experience.

I also have to say that reporting a hacker is way too much of a hassle. Should be way easier.

We working on getting this added to the scoreboard.

(Phantomchan) #127

Thank you very much. Seeing stuff like this makes me very happy.

It is still not cool that Xinecode bans people for programs that are not cheats.

(NoSoup4U) #129

Such as? Any particular programs/configurations that trigger Xigncode?

#130

That info should be available on their official site, but it isnt.

So they ban you for programs that arent cheats, but they dont want to provide the information on what progams.

Reddit and official db forum.

(alphabeta) #133

You are being awfully evasive. 2 people asked you outright which programs. So name them.

(Mustang) #134

Basically you get banned if you get kicked from the game too many times for using “third party programs”, and by using I mean forgetting to close them because they are things you usually run on a normal day to day basis.

There are many many programs that get flagged, some examples: task manager replacements, voip overlays, packet sniffers, bandwidth limiters, sandboxie, anything written in ahk even if it’s not using any macros, the list goes on, and these are just the ones I’ve personally encountered.

Xigncode has never not been total ****. It’s basically Korean spyware-lite and it doesn’t even work in the slightest. I don’t know what compelled them to even use it in the first place but really it’s still better than Punkbuster.

(stealth6) #136

I prefer PB. PB only annoys 50% of the userbase and does nothing while Xign annoys 90% of the userbase and does nothing.

#137

Me? Ask Nexon

(prophett) #138

PB in the hands of experienced and competent server admins is the best tool.

(stealth6) #139

Pretty sure there’s nothing PB provides that makes it great for server admins. Maybe you’re thinking of PBBans? Which is good, but not made / supported by Evenbalance.

(prophett) #140

When I referred to PB I meant everything associated with it
