So, in another shooter i play(Blacklight: Retribution), when u shoot the prox mines, it only deals damage to u and the person who initially planted it. In DB however, the mines also damage ur teammates in addition to u and the proxy. Honestly, i cant count how many times ive accidentally given multi-kills to a enemy proxy by disabling her mine. I mean, communicating this to ur teammates(in pubs at least) isnt really a viable option. There is no way around this either. u either shoot it killing them(or damaging them shooting at the right time when they arent too close), or let them trip it.
Change the prox mine mechanics?
Don’t shoot it when friendlies are near? I’d say let them trip it, I don’t know. I don’t find it problematic enough to warrant a change for it. If a Proxy manages to skillfully plant a mine in enemy territory, she should be rewarded for it. Besides, I’d rather Proxy not be nerfed for whatever reason.
The mines make plenty of noise so people should be able to hear them. The only issue is that both enemy mines and friendly mines make the same noise so things get hectic during the Proxy free week for instance.
So let them trip it. It’s their fault for not being cautious and not listening.
That’s actually a huge problem in this game: people don’t listen and/or pay attention. Like when someone’s planting the bomb, which you can clearly hear if you’re in range of it. People just run off in another direction, ignoring the bomb being planted. It’s a lot easier to win if you kill the bomb planter and ignore the guy running away from you.
Sometimes when a vassili is standing next to a mine (outside of trip radius) and being a dick then i just shoot the mine

@Sploosh yeah but for my case, im using apple earpods and i cant get a right volume to hear certain things without blasting my ears. apparently i have more sensitive hearing? i mean most of my friends can blast without hurting their ears sooo. i have a headset, but its a sony ps3 headset that is bluetooth and many times its resets to the headset volume and pierces my eardrums, so that isnt a viable option…

Ohhh okay, I gotcha. That might just be a problem with those earbuds, or maybe earbuds in general? I’m not entirely sure. It could have something to do with your sounds settings as well. Personally, I play on a T.V. (use it as a monitor), and the its sound quality is pretty good from what I’ve noticed. I play on a low volume, but can hear things clearly in any game.
I did notice that on my previous computer, with a certain set of speakers, some sounds in games like AVA (back when I played it) weren’t clear. I switched to another set of speakers and they were. So I’m not sure.
Also, I didn’t mean to sound harsh or anything to anyone when I said “people don’t listen,” but I’ve just had some experiences where guys tell me “oh yeah, I heard the bomb, but I was chasing a guy.” xD I think mines are pretty noticeable a lot of the time, but if a good proxy plants them in the right spot, sometimes you have no choice but to blow up your teammates!
