Change loadout system

(Trifektah) #1

I think the loadout system in dirtybomb stinks. If you think abou it theres very little actual customization for the characters. The cases should have like primary, secondary , melee and augments all come in separate cases and you can mix and match them on your character. That would be much better IMO. What do yall think

(Ghosthree3) #2

You are everything I hate about modern gamers. I swear if this game ever gets more customization for characters with augments I’ll quit.

(Ctrix) #3

But if you can’t pick and chose, how will you be op?

(CCP115) #4

At least he didn’t fuck your mum last night.
And to be fair, it never hurt to be a little open minded, I mean I would replace the Blishlok sight blob if they ever added in customization.

On a serious note, THIS WON’T HAPPEN. To easy to abuse, loophole, and just use the best augments in the game.

The devs specifically create cards, so that they can balance them. If you notice, Redeye has some meh augments, seemingly because he has two abilities.

The loadout system as far as distribution of perks and weapons decided by developers is perfect and should never be changed

I just wish we could pick which loadout we get. The RNG system is awful and not worth any investment in $
I just wish we could pick which loadout we get. The RNG system is awful and not worth any investment in $
That’s where my issue starts. Buying a bronze for 17k credits is fine, but the system falls apart from there. Elite cases, and even trade ups, are just not worth the credits/money. As a very long term pursuit it works, and once I have a handful of unused and otherwise useless silvers/golds, sure, I’ll try and trade up, but I will expect it to give me something I don’t want. The issue is, if we could just pick the loadout we wanted when we trade up, the system will see far more limited use - you’d get the loadouts you want pretty fast, and there goes any chance of you buying elite cases - not good for the devs.

The whole point here is the focus on silver-cobalt cards. Yeah, they’re optional, since you gain no advantage from them, but I just don’t think it works that well. If the cosmetic side was shifted off of the loadout and that was what we bought from the cash shop, perhaps then we could see a less RNG-heavy system, but at the end of the day, the RNG system is what they chose to go with and I have a feeling it’s here to stay.

Now i see where yall are coming from. It makes perfect sense now haha. I get the whole balance portion, some characters would become OP but at least some visual customization come on, pink camo never made a gun anymore powerful

The issue is, some cards are clearly better then others.

I’m pretty sure something that separates skins from cards is already in the works. This has been talked about in multiple streams.

At least, that’s how I understood it. Here’s hoping.

Yeah, as a business model, this is going to fall on it’s face.
I’ve bought cosmetic items in multiple f2p games, but this system just isn’t going to work. It’s literally gambling for skins. If there’s a cool item I want, I want to see a price tag directly attached to that. Even in Hearthstone, with the random legendaries, you can translate them into dust (which is 40$ and insane. Which is why I’ve never bought a pack for real money, but I bought a custom hero skin for 14$)

Also, this game has hardly any cosmetic items anyway. A shiny load-out card is not something that counts. If you want to see a way it can be done, check for example Blacklight Retribution. You can buy a bunch of different paint jobs and use them for armour/weapons, taunts you can show off, or custom helmet skins so you have a shiny skull face.

The way the kill cams in this game are set up is cool from a gameplay standpoint. It’s really fun and removes frustration if you can see exactly how you got killed. But for showing off bling it’s worthless. And in play you can’t distinguish the color patterns people are wearing anyway. There’s just no way to implement cosmetics as far as I can see it. If you expect people to pay money for looks, you need to provide a way for them to show it off. A golden badge isn’t good enough.

People are literally pumping money into Valve for keys to gamble on skins, don’t they?

(Ctrix) #13

I havn’t played much TF2, didn’t like it much. All I ever heard about the crate system is how much of a load of garbage it is. In webcomics and podcasts mostly. As far as I know, people can trade the loot from the crates, and that’s where valve is making the money. And there’s people who make a business out of reselling apparently.

(Amerika) #14

Well, the current system isn’t sustainable. Think about it. Right now it’s extremely hard to trade-up for a Cobalt. The next tier will be almost impossible unless you’ve bought a ton of elite cases. So few people will have the next tier up nobody will even want to buy cases, especially at those prices, for a horrible chance to get the card you actually want.

So something will definitely have to change and it will need to change soon. Either they will need to cut off Lead cards and make Iron the first tier or they will have to change the system. That has it’s own problems (including screwing the devs out of cash) so I doubt they will do that.

(Backuplight) #15

I just want gun skins. Puh-lease. The loadout system seems like it’ll never be a good long term money maker. I liked that it was different, and perhaps adding limited edition “elite cases” with alienware-esque loadouts in would work, but I really just want to be able to buy a case, get a dreiss skin, and shoot people with a bacon-covered tastefully decorated gun.

(Kouken) #16

Theres one HUGE difference with Valve items, they have market value and can be sold/traded to anyone and super rare items are worth hundreds of dollars

(Ghosthree3) #17

I have a friend who sold a hat for $200. Like. Makes me sad someone would do that.

(Kouken) #18

Factory new Dragon Lore awp is currently worth ~$1500usd
I have a everyday knife worth $200

(Fap Fap Master) #19

They should have just made it like TF2, no loadout cards, just weapons you can buy that certain mercs can use, cosmetics that certain mercs can use, that should have been the way to go.
