You totally stole that from me in #splashdamage.
Actually you probably came up with it on your own because i’m not creative at all
It was going to be a toggleable cvar for the spectator chase cam, to determine whether it followed the player rigidly (as in at a fixed position, configurable by the spectator by using their normal movement controls to rotate around the player) or if it swung behind the player being spectated, kinda like a camera on a bit of bendy plastic and/or string*.
Sounds as if it could be right tho, else it could be used to ‘swing’ round the player freely in circles. Kinda like the Cloud Camera man from Mario 64
rhea tells me it was a 3rd person swing camera for spectators, but SD removed it “for fear of cheating” o_O
lol @ digibob
imo this would be cool feature for ET-TV/demo viewer bani
at least while watching games u can’t cheat
Also some sort of CoD killcam for ETTV or a Demo Viewer. Would love the ease of making a base rush killing all in site, running for objective then bang. Sniped from a distance only to see that the player you didnt gib was revived and pot shotted ya at the last second with like 20hp. hoho :x Would make for a really handy feature when creating movies too, would no longer need say 2 demos for an NME’s point of view.
pgh, I gather Extended Demo Viewer from RTCW will be included in ETPro 2.1, fro my breif use of it in RTCW I imagine with that it should be possible to do a “killcam” for demos, at least to manually create the effect for making movies.
