Cda attacking map

(Mc1412013) #1

There ever gonna be a map where cda are attackers or where the story line that is based on cda winning. This whole map progression seems like it is bassed on cda loosing the battles all the time.

Enless they plan on the final map to be the one that stops jackel

Yeah, I would like to know more about lore. It seem CDA is Central Disaster Authority, somekind post-apocalyptic police goverment and Jackal is grouped rebels. It’s kinda weird that at the end of world money matter so much. There must be secret economy somewhere. Where did army or civils go? I know there is private military company in England, but is it goverment ruled? When the things get so bad, that everything is just ruined, I thought military service would turn mandatory to every citizen.

This post is probably not visible to anyone.

Anyhow, it would be very easy to make CDA attack map. The Jackals have to be operating from somewhere. Thus here is a simple three part objective.

(1A) Blow up front door - or - (1B) Blow up back door.

(2 if 1A was chosen, 3 if 1B was chosen) Fill a cargo container with loot 2 objective tubes to have a helicopter fly off with them.

(3 if 1A was chosen, 2 if 1B was chosen) Plant c4 at the Jackal Armory.

It could be fun to run the map in reverse order every now and then. As for locale, any rundown industrial area could be used and you could even have some machine hall where some captured EVs are retrofitted for Jackal colours. Perhaps some comfy rooms and coffee makers in other. Bunks somewhere else. Secret base kind of helicopter landing platform, and the armoury behind locked vault door.

But do the sides actually matter? Both sides use the same mercs with no change to their appearance beyond a glowing hue. It would be different if the CDA had its own models while the Jackal gets to keep the current ones.

  • Localized disaster.
  • There is money to be made in the disaster area.
  • Regular people are evacuated, and the maps are closed off areas with some lights beyond the barricades. Go hop around the Chapel map and you can see beyond the walls of the map.
  • And just because something is mandatary, doesn’t mean that everyone will participate, or even like the idea - hence the use of highly paid mercenaries.

The maps themselves lean heavy towards letting the CDA defend easy - if the Jackal does not push the CDA to their spawn…

Wtf it said 5 comments on this post and only one comment shows did a mod delete them all

Doubt we’ll see one. Sure it would be an interesting lore development, but lore isn’t the main focus of this game, and it would be pretty inconsistent.

As far as I know, DB isn’t really post apocalyptic, it just takes place after a terrorist attack in London. Everyone was evacuated, but life elsewhere is fine.

Well, it doesn’t make much sense for CDA to hire mercanaries:

  1. They are expensive; they have to guard every possible target at all times
  2. They are unorganised
  3. CDA is funded by government, hiring freaks would cause scandals

So mercs defending is just a gameplay-thing in my opinion, and the actual mercs are recruited just by Jackal. And because DB is all about being mercanaries, Jackal wins.

Also, it moves the story develops faster if the attackers win, and it does not make sense for CDA to attack, unless of course Jackal HQ, if that even exists.

Actually, that’s an interesting point to think about. If the CDA is hiring mercs, does that mean anything about the availability of manpower in the DB universe?

Although it seems to be implied in the Scrubs trailer that mercs are simply better. I’m not sure what training a lot of them are exactly supposed to have, but mercs like vassili are supposed to be the best sniper in the world.

  1. Mercenary, as the name suggest, they are expendables

  2. Currently irl mercenaries are called “Private Security Contractor” and they are better equipped and better trained than the army but lacks in number. There are saying that smart grunts dont stay in the army.

  3. Government have been recruiting mercenaries since forever, old kings have their own armies of mercenaries to reinforce the main army if it deems necessary.

Also, hiring mercenaries can make war easier and makes it easier for govt to place blame to

Probably if CDA attacks the area that means it will have a much different design compared to every map in the game as there will be lots of chaos and rubble with no containment yellowy thingies. Would be indeed interesting but I also want to understand a lot more about the true intentions of the CDA. Detenators, Holodrives, EV’s, those just aren’t things that sound so much like a “Containment Disaster Authority” but more like “Let’s take over London authority”

maybe a new game mode like King Of The Hill for example, because CDA job is probably securing area from looter and professional scavengers

Could be a reverse situation though. Maybe CDA is stealing data cores back from Jackals, or rebuilding a wall that Jackal destroyed. Imagine attacking ‘backwards’ on Terminal or Trainyard to repair the storage containers and wall, or the rail switch.
