Catching the RGB?

(Igloo) #1

Hello,

I want to get the RGB for shader editing. I got Photoshop and Gimp, but if I would somehow get in this second, would be cool. Though using google haven’t affected with any results, as the format was incorrect  Could someone give me some advices on catching it? (till today I only used “MSPaint” to edit & “IrfanView” to export LOL).

I don’t think that this thread should really be posted here, but I didn’t have time to think 3>

Thanks!

Greetings,
Igloo

not sure what you mean, you can select colour mode on photoshop with Image/Mode

Hi Igloo, do you mean you want to know how to convert your RGB colour into the 0.0-1.0 range used in Q3engine? Or vice/versa, convert the 0-1 range into normal range(0-255)?

I think to get to normalized you just divide your RGB values from photoshop by 255 to get 0.000-1.000, and multiply the 0.000-1.000 by 255 to get the proper color in photoshop/Gimp.

-correct me if I’m wrong

Yeah, I wanted this. For everyone who didn’t know as me: to use this add light, then from menu Misc -> Select Entity Color… or just press K on your keyboard. Set up what color you want and apply changes (something like OK, dunno how in newer version :-p)

Thanks S14Y3R.
