Cases Loadout drops

(spiffyMollusk) #1

Okay so ive got a few hours in and stuff. This is going to be my point of view on the current drop rates for Loadout Cards.

First of i have up to now baught about 80Cases, and got about 20 from in-game drops.

Outcome?

Gold: 0
Silver: 1.
Bronze: 2.
Iron: about 20.
Lead: over 9000.

At 1 000credz a case, you would expect to have EARNED a gold card by when you bought A HUNDRED!

This is ridiculous, the drops are wayyyyyyy too low.

P.S sorry if this has already been posted somewhere.

P.P.S I hope the devs get to look at this post.

It seems the idea is that silver and gold are mainly cosmetic in nature, so bronze is more or less the standard top tier. Comparing to Hearthstone, I guess we can think of it something like this:

Lead = Common
Iron = Rare
Bronze = Legendary
Silver = Golden Rare
Gold = Golden Legendary

Bronze drop rate is still low, but on the upside it’s not that hard to get there using trade ups.

I also thought it was bad at first, but now it seems fine to me. Otherwise it would be really easy to have a full inventory of bronzes. And silver/gold will always be something special, just for the rarity.

But on the other side, I saw several players with golds on each of their mercs… that surprised me a lot, is it already possible right now ? :o

Like I have said many times before the crate/case systems in games have never had favourable odds. Dirty Bomb has the trade up system, use it, it is cheaper in the long run, if you use cases you have to accept you are gambling with what you get and should never expect to get something you want from it.

yeah it is true, i simply would have expect a gold card after ive bought 100cases…

I’ve opened a lot of cases and I think I’ve gotten once Bronze card. The chances of getting a Bronze or anything higher is ridiculously low. The worst part is, the selector seems rigged because I don’t know how many times I’ve been in between two gold cards and gotten a lead or been right next to a gold and gotten a lead. As if it’s built to make you ALMOST get that card so it will make you try again (and possibly spend more money). It doesn’t appear to be that random due to the consistency in which this happens.

The “wheel-of-fortune” animation is just for show. It has already been decided, at the start of the animation, what card you will get. All it does, is to show you the cards that were in your pool, you did not roll. So yeah, you could say that it is rigged.

I think it’s extremely unlikely you will get many gold cards from the cases as that’s where the trade up system comes into play.

Also much like most free to play games, they won’t simply hand you the top tier without you investing significant amount of hours. Even when you invest real money there is still a significant grind with games.

I really like the trade up system, I have several silver characters now thanks to it. Most of ,y load outs have come from random case drops

Oh also it was confirmed by the lead game designer that currently Bronze, Silver and Gold cards have no difference regarding augments / stats it is just the looks.
