Case RNG is a little strange

I kind of think given the large amount of time required to get currency (especially since it isn’t really skill based) you should at least only unlock cards for people you own. This is doubly true for when you spend actual money on cases. Nothing like dropping $20 on elite cases only to get 4 silvers and a gold, none of which you can use without spending additional money… (or grinding forever)

At any rate, I opened 15 normal cases, and got OK cards. Couldn’t use any though. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Its fine as is. Play long enough and you’ll find the opposite true… too many credits and nothing to spend it on.

Making it so you only get cards for mercs you own just means there is a higher likely hood of farming a certain card by NOT buying other mercs on purpose until you get the card you wanted… granted the chances would still be low, but it would give less incentive to unlock other mercs because of obsessing on a shiny card.

Its fine as is…

For certain cases yes, for normal cases, no. You need some motivation to buy cases. But for something like a ranked case that you have to work your ass off for in a horrible game mode, getting a card for a merc that you absolutely hate and don’t want to play is stupid.
Wish this game didn’t rely on such heavy RNG, even if it meant a paid alternative.

There was supposed to be a video in the OP. Edited it for visual aid.

Yes, if you play enough, as in hundreds of hours. Every game is like that.

Why shouldn’t people have the choice to grind for higher tier cards if they want them? You realize it’s about money right? They’re far less likely to sell elite cases if you can just deconstruct bronzes all day and get a cobalt in a week. That being said, not everyone cares about the skins, so I don’t see how this would impact the game negatively.

Dont forget getting doubles and tripples of the same event cards for mercs you dont use or have is even worse

I love fast squishy mercs, and being able to melee with a good weapon is my favourite thing to do.
So what did RNGesus decide to give me? Rhino with a stiletto.

(Setzaroth) #8

Do the melee weapons have different ranges?

I haven’t bothered to check but I feel like they do. The bat seems to have the range of a sword while a knife is really hard to finish someone off without standing directly over them and starting down at them.

I give you like for luck.

yes.

There are 3 tiers:

  • Long: Katana/cricket bat
  • Short: Kukri, Combat knife
  • Awful: stiletto, deliverable objective
