Case Card Rarity

(Litego) #1

After opening 37 cases it is clear to me that 90% of the cards in the cases are of Lead rarity. And this whole case card system is made for us to grind all the way from Lead up to Gold through trading up.

I can’t say I’m a fan of this system, it completely removes any excitement from opening cases when you know with almost certainty that the card will be shit.

I understand that you want to have the best cards be rare, but why is Iron and Bronze this rare? I didn’t get a single Bronze, Silver or Gold card, I got 4 Iron cards and 33 Lead cards. Those odds are pretty boring.

stick with Bronze, Silver and Gold are pretty much cosmetic

Would it be more fun if everyone got a full set of gold cards by the time they hit level 10? No.

(Litego) #4

That’s not what I’m asking for, but yes, yes it would.

No it wouldn’t you are just a causal player who want’s everything to be handed to them.

I’ve got about 3-4 gold cards at level 9 (near 10) that aren’t that great tbf. It depends on the kind of perks you like. I’ve found myself using mostly bronze or silver loadouts on some of my mercs. The funniest perk I had was the triple jump ‘Springy’ augment for the heffalump Fragger

i’ve got 3 gold (2 Bushwacker 1 Fragger) in 45 cases and im rank 7 , 1 in 15 seems more than fair to me.

Casual? No. Want everything handed to me? Yes of course I do!

Grinding is not fun, leveling is not fun, unlocking shit is not fun. Having everything and playing the game, now that is fun! But I know that’s not gonna happen, and again, that’s not what I’m asking for here. 90% Lead drop rate is absurd. For those who like unlocking things, where’s the excitement in getting a case when you know you’ll get shit from it and have to trade it up anyway?

How about lowering it to like 50% on Lead, 30% on Iron and distribute the remaining 20% on Bronze, Silver and Gold.

And if Bronze really is as good as Gold, maybe distribute it 40% on Iron and 10% on Bronze, Silver and Gold.

As sinKrin said, even if you get a Bronze, Silver or Gold card, it’s not guaranteed to be good, and it’s not even Guaranteed to be for a merc you play, or even own.

Then either you are extremely lucky, or I am extremely unlucky.

@litego its rng mate sadly, you got to think if they make stuff easier to obtain it will make people less likely to spend $$$ unless its cosmetic, it wouldnt suprise me atall if you are able to buy “x” cases for “x” amount in the future , much like other games do with rng loot (CS:GO , TF2 (With keys) SF2/1 , CA(?))

Moist is right, I think. This is (will be) about money. It’s like gambling. If you make it too easy to get rare cards there will be less of a thrill to it, and less incentive to spend. This kind of thing is very appealing to certain personalities.

Personally I don’t like it and it takes a long time clicking through menus to open so many crates; time I would rather spend playing the game. Between the poor UI design, spending on crates, and spending on trading up (ffs) it all feels too much like a chore.

Show me a cool, unique skin and/or model design and I’ll show you my wallet (again).
