Cards For Mercs You Own Only.

I noticed a issues with the card system in that you are able to get card loadouts for mercs you don’t own yet. At the moment the issues isn’t that big of a problem because there is only 7 mercs for us to play. However once all 12 mercs are added I can see problems of new players that only owning three mercs and getting loadout cards for mercs they don’t own and won’t own for a while. While they could trade-up these cards it just makes it harder for them to save up to buy a new merc.

This is just my opinion though, what are your thoughts?

P.S: I’m fine with the credit system as it is, what I want to discuss is the obvious flaw of a RNG card system. Grinding is cool because it adds excitement but not when it is overly applied.

You have a “trade up” system that cuts down a big part of the RNG issue, by allowing you to only get cards belonging to one merc, so I don’t think that the fact that cases are giving you cards for mercs you don’t have is really such a big problem.

Of the aprx. 75 crates i have opened, I got 4 iron, rest lead, which all are used for trading-up, so I don’t suspect it will be much of a problem…

Is that so? Well as I stated before this is my own opinion so see that two people already disagree with me I guess I was under a placebo effect.

Personally i think it mioght be to encourage players to get new mercs by showing them piossible weapon/augment combos they can get on mercs they don’t have. although yeh the trade up system means it’s never useless

Yeah it’s fine as is. Also if you would only drop loadouts for mercs you own, it could actually become an advantage to NOT buy some mercs which would be just silly.

well, gee, it seems like it is meant to incentivize people to buy new mercs. Seems legit!
It is a pay to have fun model you know.

Nah. We have been spoiled with changes to the loadout card system and credit earn rates already, I don’t think we need any more right now.

Cards for mercs you don’t own serve two purposes right now:

  • If they’re good, save them for that one day were you are in a weird mood and buy the merc it’s meant for
  • If they’re bad, use them to trade up.

Simple.

  • Credit rate increased by 20%
  • Loadout card case drop rate doubled
  • Trade up system was added
  • Daily missions will be a lot milder with the next patch, meaning you can EASILY get free 1800 a day.[/i]
