Card Trade Up Question - Bug or Feature?

(pumpkinmeerkat) #1

When trading up to bronze and silver I always receive the same card for each merc. Is the the trade up system designed to work this way or am I just unlucky? I now have duplicate bronze Vassilis and duplicate silver Skyhammers from trade ups. It would be nice if the trade ups were randomized every time so that trading up multiple times for the same merc could yield different cards.

You’re just unlucky unless this is a new bug. I’ve not see anybody else report that they get the exact same card on trade-up. I have, myself, gotten identical cards on trade-up a couple of times though. But ever since they added the option to buy the exact Bronze I want I haven’t even cared about trade-ups even for cosmetics.

I hope its a feature >.> I really love to trade up my awesome bronze loadouts to gold without changing stuff !

I’m just unlucky. There are only two silver variants per class it seems :frowning:

You mean the skins? There’s two different silver skins.

Two skin variants. Is that what you mean in the OP?

I’ve found that I usually get the same primary weapon in trade-ups, but with different augments. Gets kind of annoying after you trade up your decent irons to get a bronze with crappy augments though.

That’s definitely extremely bad luck. Like the time I tried to craft a golden Fragger and got the exact skin and loadout I didn’t want. So what did I do? I tried again… Got the same exact fricken skin and loadout. sigh

@Amerika I have received identical cards when trading up multiple times for the same rarity and merc.

Based on the image my initial thought was that I have just been unlucky since there are only two silver variants (fifty-fifty chance). However, I believe that any bronze loadout can also be silver, gold, or cobalt as stated to the left of the silvers, golds, and cobalts. Perhaps someone here can confirm? If that is the case my original question still stands - do trade ups always yield the same card for the same merc and rarity?

Every single bronze card has a Silver, Gold and Cobalt version. All stats are identical across those cards. The only thing that can be different is the skin variants. So Silver has two different variants you can get per loadout.

It sounds like you have just gotten unlucky with your trade-ups. What happened to you has happened to me before.

Thanks @Amerika

Seems like bad luck but I’m still hesitant to trade up for another silver Skyhammer to confirm haha.

@Amerika is correct, as stated on the Genome loadouts sheets, every laodout available in Bronze is available in all the rarer skins as well.

As mentioned above, the different that are stated in “variation” are a skin
Silver: Carbon fiber and Digital Camo

Gold: Gold, Bamboo and Red/black/White

Cobalt: Blue with triangles, Black/White/Blue.
