In game I’m told there’s update ready and I cannot play online and that I should exit and download it through steam. In steam are no pending downloads. I have restarted Steam, change download region and still nothing. Any ideas, what else can I do?

Check your steam client for updates. Then try restarting it. Then go into the game options(steam library) and click Verify Game Cache.
