Cant switch weapons

I cant switch weapons at all.

Both numbers and scrolling won’t work. Sometimes when I throw a health pack I cant switch back to my gun and have to /kill to get it back.

hmmm… erase all configs (make backups) and restart game launcher?

No luck.

I just removed all the files from Published\Content\ShooterGame\Config… is that right?

I have a few questions to help figure out what’s causing this problem:

Have you tried rebinding your weapon switch keys?
What keyboard do you have?
Have you tried using another keyboard?

Have you tried using another keyboard? Don’t have one unfortunately, do you think its worth getting one? Seems weird that my keyboard would cause the problem =/

This only seems to have happened after the latest patch. Hadn’t noticed any problems like this before it.

Also the primary/secondary switch key works fine and all the ability keys Q, E are working fine too. It’s only selecting a weapon that I cant do.

I had this problem right after updating to the latest patch (before the hotfix). Unfortunately I don’t know what fixed it in the end (which is why I didn’t report it at first), but I also deleted all my configs, and rebound all my keys, but I don’t think that fixed it. Maybe I was shooting some weapon/pistol and then it suddenly worked. Sorry, but I can’t be more specific.

Could you check if you have any Macros set up on your keyboard? This could be causing it to cancel the weapon switch.

If that doesn’t work you could try deleting the bind for the ‘Next Weapon’ and ‘Previous Weapon’ controls and just try using the binds for ‘Primary’ ‘Secondary’ Etc, and if that doesn’t work try it the other way around. (You can unbind a key by selecting it in the controls menu to rebind it and then press ‘Backspace’)

No macros on here afaik… ive never used them at all.

Tried the unbinding suggestion and still no luck.

Nice to know it’s not just me tho :slight_smile:

what about “quick inventory” on/off?

Bingo… turning that on fixed it. I can’t think of a reason why anyone would want that off lol

Has this problem as well. I fixed by loading the default config. Luckily I don’t modify the default config too much so easy to get back to where I was.
