Can't play ranked execution....

Anyone else extremely disappointed by this? No wonder the q times take so long to play ranked because no one wants to play ranked.

It’s not a mode that should be in DB, let alone in competitive DB.
People don’t want to play ranked because of the lack of incentive and the queue times, and the queue times are only long because nobody wants to play ranked. It’s a vicious cycle.

you know… making seasons and throwing in some Obsidian card as rewards would make ppl go ranked.

I agree, but maybe not Obsidian cards.

A new card, and have them change every season. Similar to the CW event cards that are happening right now. Limited time stuff always keeps people playing.

Says you, on the steam forums everyone wishes execution was the ranked mode. If you had ever played a competitive game you would know that one life makes it very competitive, which in turn would equal more people playing ranked.

I prefer execution since it is more like CS:GO. The competitive stopwatch/objective style of play is so frustrating since you hopelessly have to repeat and fail over and over again on the same objective.

Having now actually played a bit more Execution, I’m not as against it as I was - but I do feel like it completely invalidates half of the mercs in the game since they just aren’t as viable. In objective/sw, you can pretty much rock whatever you want and make it work. CS:GO lends itself to the game mode so much better. I guess with a larger player base, ranked in both modes would be great - but the trouble is, as it stands, making Execution the only ranked mode would piss off a lot of current players.

Hopefully we’ll see something a bit more original or at least more fitting to Dirty Bomb’s style next.

We all know how terrible the Steam forums is. Don’t bring them as a credible source.

I do play a competitive game. This one. Competitively. The one life doesn’t make it competitive, it makes it slow. It makes it “tactical” maybe, but not competitive. This game has and always will be meant to be an objective based game. The mercs aren’t balanced or built around execution, which is why it would be terrible as a competitive game mode. The “competitive” execution lobbies would be filled with nothing but assault mercs and only trying to eliminate the enemy team. A full team of five stokers could squish any other setup you throw at them. It’s not a feasible mode to have in this game.

What he says must apply to everyone. Infinite lives means if you mess up it’s ok you get to try again. And you will get tons of team mates who think just like that. If DB didn’t want people to play ranked execution they should have never added it as a mode.

Execution is a joke. Ranked Execution is a bigger joke. Focus on the real game mode that made this game interesting.
