Cant load prefabs in GTKRadiant 1.4.0

(HUGIN) #1

Hi…

The problem with Q3MapToolz2 is solved (reformatted the HD) lol

Anyway I decided to try out GTKRadiant 1.4.0 this time (have used 1.2.11)

But I cant load any prefabs fom the “Edit > Load Prefabs”…

(I have set the path to the prefab folder and so, under “Edit > Preferences”)

Does anybody know about this problem and how to solve it?

Thanks

I think changing the extension to .map makes it work.

The PFB extension is obsolete, so I think since GtkRadiant 1.3.x prefabs are being stored in MAP files. Other than the extension, I don’t think there is any actual difference between formats.

Ok, so u guys mean I should change the file name in prefabs from [prefabname].pfb to [prefabname].map???

Would this conflict with the map u allready have open? I mean u cant load two maps ino each other u know…

They should be solved within the GTKRadiant itself, guess GTKR 1.4.0 cant read they as it should…

Or did I totally misunderstand u guys totally?

hehehe

Thanks anyway dudes!

You can name it as you like.
Only the extension pfb has to change to map.
[prefabname].pfb -> [whateveryoulike].map]

When opening up the prefab .map file, you are just importing all the brush geometry into your currently open map - works exactly the same way as a .pfb.
