Can't Join Coop

(HLC_Stinky) #1

I hope they fix this issue soon what’s the point in having coop when you and your friends can’t play. I set up a coop and people time out one of the other players set one up and same thing…:frowning:

I have the same problem. I tried forwarding all the ports I’ve heard of 27015, 27016 and then 8766.

I haven’t had any luck. It seems odd that even for LAN it is showing my public IP as the IP that my friends can join. Also oddly when I scan ports on my local machine none are showing as open.

Well we are missing a port or ports I tried the same ones no luck. I did bypass the router and it works fine. I hope they come up wih a fix for this soon…

(Crispy) #4

Is anyone having this issue without going through a router?

(HLC_Stinky) #5

I can bypass the router direct connect to my pc works fine…

(HLC_Stinky) #6

If I direct connect to my pc without the router the coop works fine. If I do this it’s a whole another type of war game in my house if my wife can’t get online…

(HLC_Stinky) #7

BTW this is the only game I have this issue with…

(HLC_Stinky) #8

Tried opening up ports 27015/27016 and 8766 any others I might try?? :stroggbanana:

On the steam forums people are having this same issue…

(The_Witherfist) #10

I am having the same issue. I can’t connect to my friends game and he can’t connect to me. I am unfortunately unable to direct connect to my cable modem, nor am I able to port forward as recommended as I am not the only one playing Brink on my network.

(HLC_Stinky) #11

They need to address this soon. I know we are not the only one with this issue. Me and 5 of my community members payed for this game just to be able to play the coop…

(Novalis) #12

Where do I find the the info about which ports need to be forwarded?
I had the same problem today and couldn’t play with a friend as intended.

(HLC_Stinky) #13

I found one guy in the steam fourm with theses ports. 27016/27015/8766 I am no pc tech and I have no idea if and how it works. Like all my OTHER games I hit the play button and it works.

(MaTaX) #14

I have a friend who is using a 2wire router/modem and when he forwarded them on udp I am able to connect to him, he uses mcaffee as a firewall and did not turn it off or anything, however when I try to forward those ports on my router/modem I am using a netgear, nothing, I even turn off my windows firewall and still no, my last thing to test is turn off avast and windows firewall to see, but if my friend can do it while his AV and firewall are on, then there is something with what he has set up

Don’t bother trying to get co-op to work. Just throw the game away and swear off Splash Damage from EVER getting another dime of your money.

These tards got $50 of mine for a broken piece of software I cannot return. The good news is that Brink’s rating is cratering all over the net. I’m putting in the worst reviews possible to ensure that these guys don’t make a profit after wasting my time and money. If I was independently wealthy I would have sued them, not to get my money back, but to make them waste thousands of dollars defending themselves.

(HLC_Stinky) #16

I went from the modem to my pc bypassing the router and it works fine with the firewall and anti virus running. I hope they figure this out soon…

We got the same issue yesterday. Since many (all?) Servers are unplayable, we wanted at least to play koop. So here is how we “fix” the problem:

You cant join over the Server Browser ingame (he cant connect), but if a Friend opens a game, just go to Steam and your friendlist, rightclick “Join Game” and it will work. Have Fun!

(Nail) #18

if the game works fine without the router, how could the problem be in the game ?
it’s your router’s problem

(The_Witherfist) #19

With my current router, I have had only 2 problems connecting via any game. Brink and anything that uses Gamespy. I’ve never had any problem with any other steamworks game. So unless they lied when they said it’s steamworks, it’s not my router.

All my games are thru steam this is the only one I have this issue with…
