Can't join any server.

I’m only seeing 5 servers currently populated. When I attempted to join any of those 5, it would remain at the connection screen. I removed the server populated filter and I’m currently seeing 192 servers. I tried to join a few empty servers just to see if it would join and I get this error:

ERROR UNKNOWN Server based snapshot on sequence 1425539072 but our base snapshot is sequence -1

Single player campaigns launch successfully. I previously did not have this problem, however this started after the last patch.

EDIT: I just tried through the steam game browser. I now see a typical amount of servers with players. When I attempt to join one again it just sits there trying to connect. I looked in the console and it reports:

server xxx ignored – protocol 40.42 - expected 40.41

Did you try verifying the steam files?

Actually I didn’t mention it, but I tried verifying the files a few times. It would instantly complete and say 100%. But after a couple of reboots, I tried this morning and verifying fixed it. I kind of miss the old days where I could manually download a patch and reapply it if necessary.

Btw, medic healing is much improved! I haven’t played for a bit and just thought I’d give it a try last night. It’s still not perfect on the healing though. The one thing I notice is sometimes you’ll see the blue silhouette and pressing the action keys does nothing until you let it go and repress it. But maybe I’m pressing it a tad early.

However, even with it working now, the populated servers have dropped considerably. I was hoping that was an issue I was having with joining servers.

Anyway, this is fixed for me.
