Here you find good tutorials for beginners.

2BIT

Hello,

  1. Have you extracted the textures folder from the pakXX.pk3 files?

  2. Have you added the spawning entities? If not, you’d better follow the StoerFaktor link

  3. Zoom out, and read the axes; Perhaps you can also press I so everything is selected, and you should see a red line with the coordinates. If not, open Radiant > Edit > Preferences > 2D Display/Rendrering > Tick Display size info.

Wish you good luck with mapping, but what software do you use? Gtk/Zero/NetRadiant - which version?

I tested and spawned.

I think you have the 2.55 version of ET, and since your map doesn’t have a command map it crashes… (Well known bug or am I wrong? I think that’s it) Not sure, but if so please update your game

(Help) #6

I use 2.55 yes ? i need 2.6 to spawn ?

Does this mean that ppl on 2.55 cant play my map but on 2.6 they can ?

(Mateos) #7

As far as I know, maps without a command map crash for 2.55 users… But so far you’re beginning, so it’s doesn’t matter, and you can use the tracemap as a temporary command map if needed… I don’t have the 2.55 installed to check.

Just download the 2.60 and 2.60b patches and see if you can spawn; On my install which is 2.60b I spawn without any problem.

You need to set mapcoordsmax and min for the map to work on 2.55, you don’t need an actual command map.

If you don’t do this then people on 2.55 can’t play your map.

Near the end of this tutorial 2bit explains how to do mapcoordsmax & min: http://www.pythononline.co.uk/et/tutorial03.htm
