Make a brush. It will be your door, so make it the right size. It must have the size of a door. Put some nice texture on it. LIke a cool metal texture, so it looks as if the door is made out of metal.
Then make a smaller brush. Put this brush where you want the “turning point” in the door. Yes, put it on the right side (or left side) of the door.
Now you must put the texture called “origin” on this brush.
This texture is here: Start radiant, click on the menu “Textures”, drag down to “common”. You see, the Origin texture is one of the many so called “common” textures. Find it, apply it to the second brush.
The origin texture is orange in colour.
Then you must select the first brush (the door). Then right click anywhere, in the 2d window. Select Func > func door rotating. Im not sure what this is called, but I think it is func door rotating, or something similar.
Now de-select it. Make sure nothing is selected.
Then select the second brush (the brush with the texture Origin). And then press SHIFT and click one on the first brush (the door).
Ok? You must have the two brushes selected. And no other brush. Just the two.
Right-click anywhere in the 2d-window. Select “move into entity”.
Now you can de-select all.
You have now moved the Origin brush into the door brush. They are one.
The door will turn around the centre of the origin brush.
If the turn looks wierd in the game - just move the origin brush in the editor and compile the map again. It is possible to move just the origin brush, without having to move the door, even though they are one.
Good luck!
