Can't decide which one to choose !

Hi everyone (my first post)

I intend to buy a new merc.
Below mercs I already own:

Assault: Fragger, Nader, Rhino
Fire support: Skyhammer, Arty
Medic: Aura, Phoenix
Engineer: Proxy
Recon: Vassili

Favorite Mercs: Fragger (K121), Arty (Dreiss), Nader (Crotzni), Phoenix (KEK)

I hesitate between following mercs:

Redeye: Because I only own one recon and I hate him + Grandeur seems to be great.
Stoker: Indoor fire support and I could use Stark (I want to keep Arty with Dreiss, I love this weapon)
Thunder: Concussion grenade seems fun, his LMG too
Sawbonez: Great medic I think, but I hesitate a lot for him (already spend 50k for a medic which I keep in my squad)
Bushwacker or Fletcher: In order to get a second engineer (I find Proxy too weak)

I can’t decide which one to choose and I don’t want to make a mistake, I only buy mercs with credits and it takes me while to raise enough cash.
I am mainly looking for a merc with a fun gameplay and ideally, quite different from what I’m already used to play.

Maybe someone here could help me on this ?

Thanks in advance !

PS: Sorry for spelling mistake, I’m french …

Bon bah moi je ne peux que te conseiller Stoker, mais si tu veux Fletcher (que je te recommande grandement aussi) pense à l’essayer en free-rotation avant de l’acheter, il ne convient pas à tous les types de joueurs. Voilà.

I’d probably get an engineer if I were you. Bushwacker can be very effective if you learn some good turret spots. As for Fletcher, I recommend watching some of Howto Sniff’s videos and be in awe of his potential.

Wait and try out any merc before you buy them. That’s what free rotation is for. I would personally advise either Stoker, Sawbonez, or Redeye, but don’t get Bonez if you’re already good with Phoenix. Stoker is vastly different from Arty and Skyhammer in terms of playstyle, so you might like him. I would say don’t buy Thunder yet, since you already have all of the other assaults. If you don’t like Proxy, though, you probably need a new engineer. Bushwhacker is sort of like Proxy, but without as much offensive potential, while Fletcher is REALLY hard to play well. As I said, make sure to try a merc out when they’re in rotation before you buy them. If you drop credits on a merc you turn out to hate, you will regret it for a long time. (Looking at you, Vassili) Another option for trying out mercs is private servers. Check Steam for some great guides about the in-game codes that you use to test mercs. While it isn’t as good as ROtation, it still gives you an idea of the merc’s capabilities in your hands. For Fletcher, try finding an object, running, and trying to throw a sticky onto it while moving.

My opinions.

Red Eye - Best recon merc in the game imo, he’s very versatile and can take a beating unlike the other Recons so can stay with the team and support them very well with his easy to use spotting and effective smoke (when used right). I suggest using the GSR on him (IR goggles make the sight if you don’t like it meaningless anyway).

Stoker - My favorite Fire Support since he can be used anywhere in the map (unless his molotov decides to disappear).

Thunder - Arguably the worst merc in the game right now.

Sawbonez - By far my favorite medic, his 110 hp means he can stay more in the thick of fighting unlike other medics and continuously revive people left and right.

Bushwhacker vs Fletcher - If you want a more defensive merc, Bushwhacker is better for that with him having to carefully place his turret. If you want an aggressive merc, Fletcher is very good for pushing and clearing people out with his sticky grenades.
