Can't create game, join other friend?

Hi guys,

Fixed my blue-screen problem, so now I really want to play this. I can’t, however, join my friend and neither can he join me. When I create a private server Steam says ‘Server not responding’, vice versa on his end. How can we play with just the two of us, or is this one of those games where you can’t create a proper server?

I am having the same issue. I can join public servers and play just fine through my router, but cannot host or join a friend’s game.
