Can't Change Class during mission

total newbie here, i am unable to change my class while in a solo mission. It just appears greyed out and unclickable. Anyone have any ideas?

Do i have to be near a command point to do this?

Some challenges won’t let you change your class.
In standard missions you can change class at the command points.

I’d suggest you play the challenges as they explain some things about the game.

Use the command post
The menu option only works whilst loading new maps

Thanks guys…probably should have known that but i admit that the menu option threw me off.
