In the server browser if I chose to join a server and then change my mind I’m in bad luck, as the Cancel button doesn’t seem to be working.
It seems it has cancelled the join but after a while I’m greeted with the correspondent map art loading screen.

It seems to give you a 3-odd second window when you can click Cancel but then it locks you out of anything (never mind the cancel button) until you join the server or it bombs out with an error.
