I’ve heard that a new tutorial is being worked on, but there are some basic facts that it does not address. The most important, in my opinion, is that 2 people cannot repair at once. In almost every match, new players will try to simultaneously repair. So can we please make the fact that they aren’t repairing more obvious (make a red message pop up telling them that because a teammate is repairing at an equal or faster rate, they are not repairing) but could we also have, a pop up appear for all players the next time they log in explaining how players cannot simultaneously repair. Hopefully this could at least educate a few more players because right now a very large amount of players do not realize how it works.
Can we tell people that 2 people can't repair at once?
Its really stupid, to be honest. I mean it says right there on that progress bar that a team mate is repairing. Yet there are like 3 or 4 people repairing or defusing.
Devs should probably make the text bigger and probably make it an eye catching colour.
This seems like the easiest thing to fix. I don’t know why it wasn’t done in the year I’ve played DB
I lost the 1st half of stopwatch in terminal because of this, iirc 3 or 4 guys tried defusing the c4 in overtime while an enemy stoker a few feet away mowed them all down as a fletcher on our team literally right in front of the stoker just watched him do it. He killed the stoker afterwards and then ran off.
It needs to be made clear.
It’s so bloody simple. It just needs a red message above it saying “You can not repair while a team mate is repairing” or something even more obvious. It basically needs to be written in blonde.
trying to repair/defuse while another teammate is already doing it for more than 3 seconds will cause you to die, and then a message will pop up saying “you have been fired on the basis that you can’t read”. done.
the problem is that the interface says ‘press f to repair’ even if a teammate is already repairing. so you press ‘f’ and as expected the progress bar advances, so you stay on repair.
ideally you would have the teammate is repairing announcement before you can start
repairing.
imagine big pop up when it happens and they guy is yelling “you are not fucking repairing, stop!”
Dude I so agree. I have like 3 other teammates repairing even when they see me repairing…
Than I have to stop repairing and save their 3 asses.
Edit: This is so annoying on Bridge.
It’s worse when nobody is repairing… And your team has an engie… And they’re a goddamn proxy who pushes the line

actually, why does the progress bar even show up when a team mate is repairing?? That is the reason for the confusion. Especially for the newbies. There should be simply no progress bar when somebody else is already doing the job and all will be good.

Very good point. This and a better message should do the trick.
The first person who is already repairing should have priority to continue repairing and whoever else comes and tries to repair will not get the option to “press f” to repair. UNLESS the new person that is coming to repair or something is a OBJECTIVE SPECIALIST, who will always dominate the person already repairing, unless (this is redundant af) that person is already a objective specialist.
True, I would also argue that person with “Mechanic” perk should also have a priority over somebody who doesn’t have it.
Instead of the new “teammate repairing” message, how about having the announcer insult the 2nd player or the non-engineer who is repairing when there is already an engineer or someone else on it.
I advocate against total removal of ability to defuse simultaneously. Sometimes, when I can’t kill enemies fast enough to protect my exposed defusing teammate I start another defuse while strafing/circling the bomb in order to bodyblock focused fire and potentially allow one of us to complete the task. Sounds crazy, but it works. Other than that, I agree with most suggestions.
