Can we see time spent in-game on the scoreboard?

Showing how long players are on the sever, counting in minutes since first spawn.

(ChaoticElf) #2

Is there a specific reason in mind you’d like to see this? Just to be able to see who joins mid match or something else?

(BerylRdm) #3

I’d like to know how many players joined mid-game. Also, I would like to see if I was doing good or bad if I joined mid-game, compared to others. It’s impossible when you can’t see how long everyone has been playing.

(Teflon Love) #4

Wouldn’t it be more useful for that to show XP per minute?

(BerylRdm) #5

Time shown would be enough imo. And much easier to implement, I think.

(Dysfnal) #6

Why not both?

(BerylRdm) #7

@Dysfnal Well, imo such things should be customisable

UT99 had this option as well, and it also showed packet loss.
If you left a server mid match, and rejoined it would also keep all of your K/D info.

Not sure why so many of these old features are omitted in newer games.

Yes, this is a mystery to me.

Because focus groups and polls have shown publishers/companies that some players don’t like to be shown exactly how bad of a job they did. It’s better to hide that information so everyone can feel like they did a good job even if they did not.

I wish I was being cynical or simply joking about that but it’s pretty close to the truth.

So, that’s why people tend to leave more frequently seconds before round/match ends. So no one will see their k/d…

Yeah, and this makes little sense to me for players who use non-assault/recon mercs. If your job is to do something other than killing people then having a bad K/D and high XP means you did your job. Plus, you can just check your XP midgame anyways so how well you did is already weighed against everyone else in the lobby.
