Can we have an update from a SD staff member?

(Pumpkins) #1

I recently purchased Brink for the Xbox 360 and have been running into a lot of the problems described on these forums.

Is there any chance a SD staff member could comment on any developments, or if there are more fixes currently in the works?

I’d really appreciate it.

There are fixes in the pipeline but no date as of yet, takes a while for xbox title updates. SD have to find the problem, work out a patch, test it etc then it goes to MS for certification which can take a week. Could be a while yet imo.

Yep but a damn apology would been the least they could have done

I thought they got an extra year of development time to sort out the problems?

They released a broken online console game with no console standards as it relates to the lobby/party. Its criminal.

How can you release a game where you need to play with your friends to have constant team coordination, and not be able to join friends.

An apology is certainly in order. And don’t give me this free DLC as an apology. DLC does no good for a broken game. THey could give everyone 100 free maps, and you’d lag all over them in a party of randoms & bots.

And what’s up with Matchmaking Bots? Really, just WTF were they doing during console development. Its really criminal.

Yea, and explain why they released the game early even though its p0rked online :frowning:

Meh, at best that should come from Bethesda [the publisher] for not giving SD enough time to get it done. Its possible, likely even, that Bethesda gave SD a flexible schedule and they failed to meet their deadlines. But in the end, its Bethesda’s responsibility as the publisher to release the game. Don’t hate on SD for that.

Well put buddy. I’m sure if SD had the funds to do a full blown public beta, they would have. But I can’t remember the last brand new IP that got a beta (that wasn’t an MMO). I’m sure plenty do, but again i’m not faulting SD. This is there first independant IP.

To the rest, patience young padawan. I feel we’ll hear from Splash Damage sooner than we all think. Just be patient and enjoy the game as it is now (still fun for me, just leave the laggy games).

Agreed, an update is required. The latest thing we know is “working on it, free DLC”.

What happened to daily patches and updates? There was a burst of stuff just after release and now nothing. Silence. Just a bunch of posts trying to avoid the actual technical issues.

Bethesda gave them another year to refine the game.

Maybe SD told them it was a go for launch and they could push up the release. Who knows.

I do know one thing, one company was responsible for making a functioning game, and got a long extension to do it, and that company is SPASH DAMAGE.
