I can recognize his style on a few of them but it’d be nice to know for sure which ones he worked on or created…Thanks

I’m pretty sure they were made by teams rather than individuals. Unless SD means Slave Developers and they keep their mappers locked up 24/7.
Guess which maps he was the primary designer for, and we’ll tell you if you’re correct
A challenge!
Unfortunately, I have never played a SD game before Brink. So I’ll be watching this thread. Good luck keen!

Wrong. :stroggbanana:
Oh well.
Just out of interest though how do you (Commander Keen or anyone for that matter) know what maps he’s made in past? I’ve never really read anything that gave credit for individual pieces of work within the games. Apart from sock’s blog thing about his work on the ET maps.
When looking through the map references in ET:QW you do noticed some patterns in work but again I’ve never seen anything to suggest who made what exactly.
EDIT: Would love to know who designed Radar and Goldrush in ET and Sewer and Salvage in ET:QW
For sure “Founders Tower” and I believe the other DLC map “Labs” looks like his work as well
From the original I will guess Terminal and Resort
I base those on his style, however I believe he is such a capable mapper that if the game designer told him to go outside the box and away from his normal style and didn’t give him a choice on a theme he could also make a great map based on that direction as well. So since that is a possibility and I may not be able to recognize them based on his style that I knew and loved is why I’m asking the question.

Labs is correct! Founders was by Jamie “Fishbus” Mason.
Terminal is correct! Resort was by David “Torchy” Edwards.
Container City. He is the evil mastermind behind the sinister plot to trap unsuspecting noobs forever in their Security Spawn! Only the most evil and sinister mastermind would add in two cover spots facing the enemy spawn! Whuhaahahahahaha!

Labs is great. Good job dude. Love this map. Already played a ton of epic battles on it. And it was Free DLC. Does that rock or what?
Labs is IMO the best map in the game at the moment. Love the objective and love everything about it.

Chris, because I used to play Quake III Arena with him a long time ago. He made some great maps and had a very distinctive style. I recognized that from the green vegetation and the white textures. He was one of the first to come out with a white texture that didn’t wind up looked washed out in the engine because white did not render well with the default gamma settings in Q3A.
He also worked on maps that were larger in size yet still played well as if you were on a smaller map. He’s a true master and is proof that people from the community can get discovered and make it big! Congratulations Lloyd!
I’d have to say that all the maps in the game are very well designed layout wise.
Container City is probably my favorite, despite the little spawn issue at the beginning. It just has a really nice flow to it.
My least favorite map, Shipyard, actually has one of the best layouts of all. The reason it is my least favorite has nothing to do with the map design…its only because the map consists of two tough objectives that are somewhat far from the Security Spawn…so there is a lot of failing and running back from spawn.
Speaking of Torchy, where the heck is he? He still owes me a beer from 5 or so years ago. >.>
