We all know that repairs don’t stack, so if somebody is already repairing, you won’t make the repair go faster and engineers take priority.
But it’s really annoying when you are proxy and repairing the EV on Chapel and another proxy or even better, a Vasilly, sits next to you repairing instead of covering you and both get killed.
Maybe we could change it so that once someone is repairing, no one else is able to start repairing, this way they will cover you?
Can we block people from repairing if someone else is already repairing
Having players stack defuse is a legitimate strategy in very specific situations. Having multiple players attempting to defuse in an Overtime situation will create zero defuse downtime when the dominant defuser dies.
Perhaps when they take another look at the Tutorial, the narrator can state that stacking has no additional effect.
When you are repairing if you are the faster repairer i.e Engineer you will bring out your repair tool and anyone else that tries to stack repair will not bring out their repair tool as an indicator BUT some peeps don’t notice i guess. LOL
I liked the idea mentioned in a previous thread to apply tick damage to the stacker not repairing , they may not notice no repair tool in hand but sure as hell will notice themselfs getting hurt
We just need a better indicator. Instead of a tiny “faster teammate repairing” it should be a huge red message covering half of your screen saying “A faster teammate is repairing. You are not helping, COVER THEM” or something

This. It was prominent in Execution, but considering Execution is going bye-bye, it won’t be as noticeable. It can be useful to have say, 2 Proxys repairing the EV near the end of Chapel’s road in a close Stopwatch match. If one dies, the other is still repairing and the effect is immediate. There is no downtime. Those critical few seconds could mean the difference between winning and losing.
Of course the downside to this is the common noob just repairing because they think it stacks. Most new players won’t have a clue about when two people repairing is useful. So although this part of it sucks, it’s a useful strategy as Melindor mentioned, and the suggestions that say to damage the extra player repairing or not let them repair at all would ruin this.
So, repairing/defusing stacks only on MAX 2 players and ONLY without engineers, right ?

Imagine an oncoming Stoker about to throw a molotov.
Stack repair or deny that incoming fire.
You’re smart, yeah?
@K1X455 this is a very old necroed thread, lol

Only one person can repair at a time. Repairing while someone else is already repairing won’t do anything.
If one player has the mechanic perk or is an engineer, they’ll become the ones repairing instead.

If I did as you said, that’s true. But no… I didn’t.
You could have qualified your tactic with “in appropriate cover from fire”, but you didn’t. So between you and me, I’m more clever.
new players often do this ,
but it’s not a prob , sooner or later they learn this
