Can they get away with charging for other DLC?

I agree with this. Free maps please… I’ll buy some of their ****ty clothing in return.

I feel if SD continues to release maps for free, they can charge all they want (within reason) for cosmetic items. If they follow that simple rule they can make this game go far.

They better make every DLC free.

Like CD Project for Witcher 2.

Now where did that picture go? Oh yeah, here it is.
You aren’t entitled to ****. Just because you can’t play it, doesn’t mean others cannot, either. I play it just fine, in fact, it is the best 60$ I’ve spent in a long time. I think there are very many out there that will vouch for me. They’re already giving you some free DLC, and they don’t have to. Hell, they aren’t even required to patch it. They could leave it sit as it is, after all, they already have your money. But no, they patch it, they apologize. They give you free stuff. Don’t be such a spoiled little brat, just because something you bought isn’t as great as you played it up to be. You didn’t have to buy it. You could have waited, you could have sat and waited for reviews to pour out, but no. You wanted it now. You wanted the best. So you didn’t get everything you wanted, tough ****.

With that said, of course I’d very much prefer the free way as well. VALVe managed to update Team Fortress 2 with new maps, weapons, monologues, textures and game modes for three years, absolutely free.[/QUOTE]

TF2 wasn’t free. It takes a lot of work and time and luck to get many items that are very good. Honestly, it was paid DLC weapons, just with the option of finding it within a few months to amke it seem like it wasn’t paid DLC. But it was SUPER inconvenient for those who didn’t pay. I tried grinding for weapons a few times, but mostly I just bought the stuff.

I hope SD finds a good business model for DLC that will give them income from those who want to pay without alienating those who don’t. Continued revenue wil ensure future work on the game.

I would prefer they keep going with the free DLC packs, and perhaps charge for clothes and/or gun skins or something to keep the funds coming in, but I would also be willing to pay for DLC, provided the DLC is worth the money.

The MannCo didn’t exist for a long time. Each update would bring guns that everyone could easily unlock by new achievements.

The new system was implemented 3 years after the original game and even now thanks to trading I easily get all the new weapons quickly. I just play the game and get guns, craft guns into metal and trade that metal for newer guns.

No until they reach the amount of content that should have been in release.
