Damage multiplied, no crosshairs (forced to use iron sights), less info on HUD.
Is this possible at all down the line?

So basically you do want 1 shot kills and hardly any movement because you’d be iron sighting the whole time?
I don’t want one shot kills. There’s plenty of room for increased damage before it ever comes to that. And if you aren’t using your iron sights you are wasting ammo anyway. I like realistic games, crosshairs tend to bother me.

Wouldn’t what you suggest be more of a “softcore” mode?
I honestly don’t think so. However, if you play on PC this would be possible i think. High damage kills are actually more satisfying when you get used to them.

I’d like it to be similar to BFBC2 hardcore mode, of which I have 900 hours in at max rank. No crosshair, increased damages raises the stakes and you tend to play more conservatively with more thought-out tactics. I’m not telling you that you have to play it, I just want to know if SD would consider adding it considering their games tend to have a competitive following.
BRINK type of shooters require you to track your target and aim for the head.
“Hardcore” type of game modes require no skill in that regard. You kill people by randomly hitting them anywhere with one or two shots basically, which leads to a lot of camping as you can imagine. It should really be called “Confused Noobcore”.
HAHAHAHAHHAhahahahahaahahaha ahah ahaha ahahah aha ah hihihihih hi ih ih ihHIH HIHI.
Child, get the hell out of your house. Reality and games have nothing in common.
Oh, and hardcore is for pussies.
I know you’re asking for it to be a separate mode… But it sounds to me like you’re just playing the wrong game.
I think it’s a valid question. Both CoD and BC2 have a hardcore mode which have a solid fan base.
If you don’t like it you don’t have to play it.
And don’t give me the “splitting community crap” please.
Combat already ends in less than a few seconds, how much faster do you want it?
You indeed play more conservatively with so called “harcore” mode.
More thought-out tactics? Erf, well, the thing in Brinks and ET like games is that you have to raise your tactics, without having the luxury of slower tempo. Being fast doesn’t mean being a mindless rambo, and all the difficulty in fact is in keeping your tactics, your cohesion, in the middle of all the frantic movement around you. This is where you can (and should) improve in brink, this is one of the major strong point of this game for me, it forces me to try getting better under difficult circumstances (for me
).
It is not a realistic game, it’s not meant to be, and frankly, if you picked it up for that, you got the wrong game.
This coming from a simulation/realism guy, I started online gaming with combat air sims, my main game is the OFP/ArmA series, by far, and well, Brink is not about that. At all
A hard-mode would be nice, but your suggestions don’t get us there. Here’s what it ought to look like:
I wish.

Different styles of game.
Imagine how hard it would be to play on offence if the defence are semi competent, it is fairly hard without increased damage and decreased health.
Brink doesn’t really suit that style of play, its like asking for free for all.
To the op, I suggest Arma 2. This is not and never will be a game focused on “realism”.

seconded! great ideas! +1000 char

Remove abilities and just leave core class abilities, leave the crosshair but make them ‘normal’ and not pulsing and you’ve got a deal.
Other than the increased damage, I like the idea…
No healthbar, no crosshair, MAYBE remove command post buffs (or remove the base buff so you only get one pip when upgraded)
I also think it would be interesting if they allowed us to remove the ability to reverse any progress on primary objectives (including no returning of objectives on delivery missions, and no reversal of hacking)
I agree, there should be a hardcore mode.
No ironsights. Decreased cof for assault rifles. Job done - a hardcore mode that’s actually ‘hardcore’
