We have Skyhammer, a free ammo merc, and Aura, a free health merc. The problem is on maps like Chapel, where you have 5 skyhammers who immediately airstrike the EV as soon as it’s repaired, but no Engineer to counter it because nobody has Proxy or whatever.
I think SD should either make an Engineer (Proxy or Fletcher probably, free Bushwhacker means a lot of turtling) free forever like Aura and Skyhammer, or adjust the free rotation so there’s always an Engineer in it.

Could do a free Fletcher imo. Don’t mean to be cheap but this could be a nice idea really.
Proxy is the easiest engineer to play, so I would say she would make a great free merc. In pub games, you’re almost always guaranteed a kill from her mines because no one is paying enough attention to notice them. Bushwacker requires a lot of map knowledge for proper turret placement and Fletcher has one of the hardest abilities to properly utilize. In other words, you start with Proxy, learn the game and then by the time you have enough credits to buy a new merc, you can grab Bushwacker or Fletcher.
I think Proxy is the ideal Engineer to be free, but I’m worried they wouldn’t do it since she’s part of the Merc Starter Pack. I guess they could always replace Proxy with Fletcher in the starter pack and give people with the starter pack 30k credits.
It’sa bit odd that there is no free engineer. I’ve been in games recently that were 7vs7 and 8vs8 and one side literally had no engineers in their entire roster.
Proxy would be a great free engineer and new players would love it. She’s by far the weakest engineer on the roster right now and easiest to play. She wrecks new players and is fun to play. I’d be all for making her free.
