Can take damage before even fully respawning

The situation:
I joined an already ongoing match. The map was Trainyard and I respawned in the Defenders last spawn.
By the time I was able to move (and see the map/environment around me) I was on 20 something health!
…an enemy Aura took the path under the Defender’s bridge (by the helipad) and had taken a few shots at me. By the time I was able to move I was seeing a team mate chasing her away.

The problem:
There seems to be a short gap between the countdown end and being able to fully interact with the 3D world where the player is completely vulnerable.

Although situations like these are extremely rare it is nonetheless something that should be addressed at some point.

I think this is because when we enter an already played game, we are thrown into the lobby. We have to wait that 15 seconds, but our character has already spawned. Because the spawn timer doesn’t last 15 seconds, we are vulnerable to attack.
Very annoying! I have had this happen a few times! Hearing myself getting headshot while the timer is at 3 seconds to go is frustrating to say the least!

I’ve been killed outright due to this bug while in the lobby. The player should be invulnerable while still in the lobby when this happens, or even better not spawn while on the ‘second countdown’.

yesterday I had this issue the first time, was killed during the switching from lobby to ingame
