Can someone explain the spread change?

I remember we were getting some spread rework, but honestly I cannot even tell if anything is really different.

Could someone explain what has changed please?

Some weapons had the spread reduced in general

Overall however the spread was mostly linked to the bloom and the bloom recovery.
The spread should reduce quicker after a jump or a sprint.
Also when you let go of the trigger.

Also some of the hit boxes where made slighly bigger.

We are at a point now where if we reduce the spread much more we will notice individual accuracy start to decrease.
I think the current changes put it right on that borderline for the majority of people.

At this point I would personally like to see some more playing around with TTK and stuff now.

Bullets land in a more predictable pattern? Whatever it is, accuracy is up so meh.

Maybe I just have to play more to really notice it more. Just every time I play the game ends up in just crashing. I never really crashed in earlier builds but I crashed 3 times just today and most other days I play I crash at least once.

Imho - that only means that random hits will be minimized :wink:

Probably because UE3 engine is that bad that tracking is made 5x more annoying than any competent engine for fps.

I totally agree… The mouse movement in DB is very sup par…
Yet still so many people are asking for the spread to be reduced and speed to be increased /Facepalm

I didn’t agree with the first speed change, where they made it so you could change strafe directions even faster and I am surprised they haven’t changed that back yet. I don’t feel like it made the game better and actually started this whole problem with accuracy. I don’t really remember people complaining about spread til they made that change. Changing it back would probably fix ironsight being a load of dung as well.

Acc is up OR Acc feels up?

In game only gives us over all percent and the weapon tab on has a circle with now numbers…

Yes, my acc feels up but it also feels like I am firing a lot more bullets then last patch…

I like the feel until I get into a 1 v 1 with two good players…

Little better spread recovery. Crouch Recovery, Tap Fire Recovery, RLRLR Recover and so on…

I dont think that reducing spread further is a good idea. It would probably increase ac uracy of the highest skilled players and decrease for those with poor aiming skills, making skill gap even bigger. Spread seems fine where it is right now, I dont want to play instagib.

Spread seems fine… Spread Recovery is not.

I don’t feel there is really that big of a skill gap. You have so many different Merc’s and Merc’s that counter Merc’s its hard to judge a skill gap.

You don’t really see people running away with the high scores too much. I haven’t seen anyone get 100 kills in a round… There’s really no one saying “Great Shot” because half the time you dont know how u died or why the other person didnt die… There’s a ton of room to improve the skill gap and it is greatly needed because of the match making stuff that is coming.

I have used this example before but Chump and I got in a 1 v 1 as Saw’s and pretty sure we both landed out first few shots but then went into a RLRLR and tap crouch battle and we ran out of ammo and even pistol ammo. This was a close to mid range. People that can RLRLR, jump, prone, crouch or anything all with muscle memory are having trouble in extended fire fights. Something about standing still while a person is shooting at you seems wrong.

Adding Iron-Sight Add-On will add depth to the skill ceiling and also make insta kills at mid range possible.

Movement is a big problem right now… Advanced skill Moves for Advanced Shots.

  • RLRLRL
  • Crouch Toggle
  • Bunny Hopping
  • Prone
  • SOMETHING!!!
  • Jump Shoot
  • Corner Strafe

Biggest this is the game Merc’s and Map need to be optimized so these movements are smooth or the way SD wants them to look.

Personally I would like to see the RLRLRLRL + Crouch + Jump + Walk stuff minimised in general…

It feels clunky to play and very clunky to watch.
Almost feels outdated compared to the rest of the game.

Is it clunky because of the glitching and game optimization?

Not sure how you can minimize these moves in a First Person Shooter. Even CS has these moves and I for sure use all these moves plus prone in COD and BF. :smiley: (Not to mentions ET and RTCW)

I am personal against anything that will make people teleport or warp to a spot. Something that is right now untraceable or untrackable.

I mean this game has a long way to go, you can’t even run/walk up and down stairs with out glitching out! HAHAHA!

My biggest concern is I dont want a game where people set their M_Pitch to 0 and only have to move their mouse Right and Left…

Just add prone!!! Make people AIM! The Technology is there now and hit boxes can accurately follow the player model!

There also has to be a move to escape or bunny hop out of danger, something…

However I will say that Maps could drive your thinking. But not these maps.

Accuracy is definitely up, you can also take a look at the tournament results for confirmation on that too.

adadadad + crouch aka the river dance. Dumbest thing to watch imo.

Its just weird that there is enough time in a gun fight to make that many movements since the fights last long. I don’t think the ttk is too long, I think the jittery strafe movement is the problem.
