Can some1 make me a good load pic and a command map?

(Softwar) #1

Hi all,

I already asked if it was possible that someone could make me the picture that you see while a map is loading.

Orange, you were interested in doing that eh?

Please give me your e-mail so I can give you more information.

Another thing I need is a command map, I tried to make one myself but it looked ugly and stupid, so if someone could make me a command map.

Interested, please give me your e-mail so I can send you my tracemap.

The creator or the load pic and command map will be added in the co-workers list of Revolution Map

My email:
itzikcom@hotmail.co.il
Just please, if you want me to make a loading picture for you, send me a picture from your map.
What’s the point in loading picture that only has text?

And what’s wrong with the CP model that’s already in the game?

I got a blank photoshop file for the levelshot. Just put your screenshot in between layer 1 and layer 2.

Everybody can download it from here: http://junk.chruker.dk/files/mapping/enemy_territory/blank_levelshot.zip

commandMAP != commandPOST :wink:
Loading Pictures with text only? Boring, isn’t it?

@Softwar: Any screens of your map available?

(Softwar) #5

You can find 8 screenshots here, but don’t use one of these Orange, I’ll send you a new screenshot

Only the word ‘Revolution’ is boring, yeeh.

And with the command map I mean => the map in the limbo menu

If someone wants to make me a good looking limbo map, I’ll send him my tracemap

Chruker, that’s a really handy thing to have. Thanks a million man.

If you want someone to make you a command map then you are going to need to trust them with your actual map pk3. Also the standard tracemaps are completely useless since they are 256x256 res. Command maps are typically 512x512 or 1024x1024 so a rubbish 256 blur will look absolutley crap in game.

Trust is a must and if your are after peoples emails then it’s best to use PMs since these pages get sucked into search engines and emails get sucked out by spammers.

I see Schaffer got a mod that can make 1024x1024 tracemaps. Perhaps that would be a place to start.

Anyway, more information here: http://www.splashdamage.com/index.php?name=pnPHPbb2&file=viewtopic&t=7356&highlight=tracemap+1024

Sorry to drag up an old topic but I’m having a problem related to the levelshot creation. For some reason I am having big problems saving my tga with the transparent edges. I’m thinking it’s something to do with the alpha channel but I can’t for the life of me figure out what’s wrong. :frowning:

This is even happening if I’m using Chruker’s template.

Any suggestions?

I’m using Photoshop 7 btw.

(kamikazee) #11

Photoshop 7 doesn’t save Alpha channels if it’s an unpatched one.

(Schaffer) #12

I concur on that. Go get the patch

(eRRoLfLyNN) #13

That makes sense, cheers fellas :]

(Chruker) #14

If I remember correctly this is the updated file for tga: http://softwareupdates.adobe.com/updates/detail.jsp?cid=1544

(Shaderman) #15

The update to 7.0.1 fixes this problem (it’s much bigger than Chrukers file though  )

The Gimp is a nice alternative for those that can’t afford a copy of Photoshop…and don’t want to use an illegal copy. Here is my Gimp project file for the ‘Decoder’ levelshot:

http://home.no.net/leifhv/decoder.xcf

Just replace the layer with the Decoder shot with your own screenshot and save as TGA. (I hope…it’s been a while since I worked on this…)

The Gimp can be downloaded from

http://www.gimp.org/unix/
http://www.gimp.org/windows/

The Gimp will also save your alpha channel correctly!

Paint Shop Pro is another nice cheap alternative to Photoshop. Some things are a hell of a lot easier in PSP that PS. Want to do vector work in PS then forget it. PSP streaks ahead of the combination of Photoshop and Illustrator.

Anyway, did the patch help you out there Errol?
