i have just made my own map for my clan server, and its was great. and now i wanted to work on a new one, and it wont save the .map file…

(Paul) #2

give us more info, why it doesn’t save? Any error messages?

(Wezelkrozum) #3

Let’s guess… you have vista?

(stealth6) #4

I’ll double this guess and add that you probably didn’t use the search function.

(forbidden) #5

it doesnt have any errors, it just wont save…

http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/search.php?searchid=2102326

use gtk 1.5.0

Actually if you still can’t find your problem, you might want to give us some more info then, like what the problem is, lol
won’t save is a pretty loose statement

(Pegazus) #7

Edit: Nevermind

(forbidden) #8

ok, i am using vista, i have gtkradiant 1.5.0, i made a map before and it works fine, and i wanted to start making a new map. i got a little room done and i was going to save it and at the bottom of gtkradiant, it says like it took .xx seconds and i thought it was saved so i closed gtkradiant and then it said would you like to save? and i said yes. then when i went to open the map again. it didnt save! it just wont save the map. it just saves it as like some autosave or some crap.

(stealth6) #9

are you running it as administrator?
May be you don’t have enough permissions.

have you tried opening an existing file editing it and then saving that?

(shagileo) #10

About that autosave, there is actually that function in the maps folder. Radiant autosaves your work every X minutes. You might want to try to open that autosave.map and see what happens

(forbidden) #11

its not autosave.map , its PizzaHut(thats what i named my map).autosave

(Pande) #12

… .autosave.map. It may just be hidden.

Either way, it opens in Radiant. Try.

If it can’t save normal files but can save the autosaves fine, set autosave time to 1 minute in preferences and when your done, just let it sit for a while til it does. After each mapping session, rename the latest autosave to something unique.
