Calling the most talented mappers (Pending Release)

(CrazedFan) #1

First, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the help offered by everyone over the last few months as I’ve been drafting my first map. I’ve posted nine new screenshots to http://www.elevatedgaming.com/v2/?p=projects. Please take a moment to view them before you continuing reading this post.

I’m asking for the most talented mappers for two reasons.

(1) – My map is almost done. Before releasing to the public I was hoping to enlist the help of those I respect to give it a pre-public-beta preview. I trust your input and would greatly appreciate your advice. Please send me a private message or e-mail me (off my Web site) if you are interested. I’ll offer the download next weekend.

(2) – I’m having a small issue with my tram. It is not a show stopper, but I thought I’d ask to see if someone had a solution. Details follow:

a. The tram is a func_mover made of brushes (not a model).
b. The tram starts of with the z-axis @ zero degrees
c. When the tram is in transit, the z-axis shifts approx 10 degrees to climb the hill as it follows the spline path.

The question: Is it possible to rotate the func_mover so the z-axis is zero in the home position as well as in transit? Please see the photo below.

Also, I would like to thank thegnat for offering his help with the command map.

The 'faceangles x y z ’ command might be what you’re looking for. I’m not sure how it would work with a mover following splines, but setting it to zero degrees with a moderately short time may make it seem like it’s swinging slightly, but make it go back to the way you want it. If setting it to zero doesn’t make it move, you could try about -10 degrees (or however much it takes to make it straight).
