Calling A Vote To Override The Current Vote

(Melinder) #1

I’m quite certain I’ve seen this issue being talked about in the bugs section before, however there is yet to be any action taken to fix it.

One of the ways that cheaters are getting away with cheating is by overriding votes to kick them with a vote to kick a different player. Whether this is actually a feature in the voting system, or the cheat is manipulating the system to override the vote, that I’m not sure of. If it is the latter, then I can understand that there isn’t an easy solution, if any at all.

An example scenario (that I just witnessed) is this: Cheater Name: X ||||| Random Player Name: Y

“Vote to kick player X”
Yes (2/6) No (1)

[Cheater overrides]

“Vote to kick player Y”
Yes (5/6) No (2)

As people attempt to kick the cheater, they unknowingly kick the random player instead. It is worth noting that if the players in the game vote NO to the second vote, the vote will close, however the original vote to kick the cheater will still be present, and the players can then continue voting against the cheater.

Can confirm this. Reported it back in October :expressionless: The first hacker I ever saw we couldn’t kick because every time we tried to kick him it would change the name to whoever called the vote. Surely vote calling is server side, so it must be something in the game that lets it happen. I’m sure there must be a way to stop it happening even if they can’t stop the aimbot.

I will look into this - but please also report players that are hacking via the in game reporting system! Thanks.
