  • the tank will stop at the river and show the way to an axis bomber.
  • bridge and tank barrier disabled.
  • the axis team can reach the objective via the destructed HQ antenna
  • smaller file size (fom 6,1 MB down to 5 MB)
  • voice announce changes

This seems to be much to easy for the allies once they get the tank. The problems, from what I’ve seen, come in the first part of the map witht eh chokepoint. Perhaps not make the gate re-constructable, giving the axis a better shot at advancing TO the tank.

Also, are these map changes your making officially sanctioned by the original creator? You should really ask for permission to edit a map before doing so, as some mappers want control over every change made to the map. Every map with the name Venice will reflect upon the original creator, as well every map named Caen. It is only right that they can give or deny permission based upon the changes proposed.

all the those maps you have submitted lately (rockstar) arent new versions, but modified scripts and shaders. I am sure none of the original owners know about it. and you don’t wanna say anything about it.

rockstar if author doesn’t know about remake, you steal his work. And what is a point to make some changes like river’s color? I bet a thound times is better to make a legal, StopWatch version for clan needs (if you have ideas for it). Ehh… such an edition can does everybody and quickly! :expressionless:

This could have been announced just as a mod for server admins (containing the scripts and shaders) instead of announce it as a NEW version of the map :?

sorry zig-zag i dont find in caen2.pk3 any readme txt about the author or contact info. I only see the pk3 was made 2004.06.15. i rally donno the author is alive :slight_smile:

Iam a beginner (modder) every map is a new try for me.

I only love the map and with my game experiece i think i make a new version, because i want more ppl love this map too. A free stuff for a free game in my free time…

btw i respect your work zig-zag!

take the script files, the shaders and put em in a pk3 : it’s gonna give you, a much smaller pk3 (probably 1mb pk3) :wink: . This is not a new map or REV. its a mod for this map. :x

Its called common courtesy. If you don’t knwo who the mapper is, simply post here asking! There are enough people on here that you’ll get an answer and contact info. When you take someone’s work and re-make it it reflects on them, as a mapper. If Zig-Zag does not like your changes, or a gamer doesn’t like the changes, then its a problem. If someone who knows who made Caen plays your version of it, and doesn’t like it, it negativly effects their opinion of Zig-Zag. That is the problem.

You always ask for permission before making a change to another mappers work.

Until the original mappers say that they approve of the changes you made and they sanction it, I refuse to host or play on your version. I also plan on informing everyone who asks about it that it is a decompilied, unauthorized version of the map and they should stay away from it.

yes, ET is a free game, but give credit where credit is due. Either get their permission, or don’t mess with their maps.

If your new, spin around GoldRush a bit. Change it up, try it out. Then work on making your own map, not chaning already perfect ones like Caen and Venice.

rockstar if I could see my map remade, I would murder the author :evil: (but no time to finish anything yet, without legal remakes of te_valhalla :D).

As guys said you above: try on goldrush and show people what you can do. But others maps leave alone in peace :wink:

If zig zag is still available i would gladly ask him if i could edit this map and publish it only then when he sais ok!! After i edited it a bit.
