Buying gaming rig to play Brink and more.
it wouldn’t just be for brink. mainly for diablo 3 when it comes out, but i wanna play Witcher 2, Guild Wars 2, maybe try WoW, SC2 perhaps.
in my honest opinion, depending on how hardcore of a gamer you are as well as your budget, i’d suggest in just starting with a core i7 cpu, core i5 and i7 require diff’t sockets and take specific motherboards so you need to be sure of this decision you’re making, if your budget allows you too…ditch the i5 and go with an i7 even the lowest i7 in the series is easily over-clockable and leaves you with a lot of upgrading room without needing to shell out on a new motherboard, cuz if you go with an i5 now, and decide later you’d like a cpu upgrade to the i7…you also need a new motherboard which is almost essentially buying a new computer lol, so i don’t suggest that…but again it’s all preference and what you plan to do with this computer and how it fits your living style and budget, but if you’re a gamer…i’d make room in the budget for that corei7 even if it means lowering some of the products you’ve got in that list and upgrading later on.
about the zalman cpu cooler, i suggest don’t get it. not on a corei5 at least. my core i7 is running stock fan and can handle almost 4ghz OC and still be at fine temps. unless you plan to OC your cpu i suggest not getting the zalman, the stock’s work fairly good in my experience.
other than that everything looks good though, i’m currently on rig i built a good 2-3 years back and it’s still running things lightning fast and i have much room for upgrading if needed, which i don’t yet…
core i7 920
evga gtx 480
gigabyte extreme x58 mobo
6 gb ddr3 corsair
window 7
1000w corsair modular psu
x2 1tb hdd
also if it’s your first time building a rig and are looking for some advices or extra info i’ve written a computer building guide on another forum i can link to you, just say the word and i’ll post it.

From what I’ve read, the sandy bridge i5’s are just as good as the i7’s, and they’re cheaper. That’s pretty much why I went with it.
ahhh… i got my corei7 when they first came out, a lot of different versions are now out there. maybe im just a nub but if you’ve done your research then good on you
but i do hope your solid in your decision for the i5 cuz if you want that i7 it’ll cost you a new mobo as well. but yea, looks like a decent build to me, goodluck!
