Bushwhackers turret is due its MOT

(JonBongNoJovi) #1

Too long has the mustached one been ignored , it’s about time he was looked at , with some of the map changes/fixes its limited the areas the turret can be placed and in ranked can trap you in corners . It’s feeling sluggish double the firing speed and half the damage making it react a little quicker , increasing its range slighty would be nice also but maybe asking to much . The ability to rotate when placing as previously requested is a needed feature you should consider , hopefully dockyard has been made with turret placements in mind .

He should be able to use the second ability button (or right clicked while being held) to toss/slide his turret at the very least. Literally any buff would help him.

I’d just like to see the range increased a bit and the cooldown reduced, as well as a better reclaim system. At the moment you can pick it up after its destroyed by spamming F, but it’s really inconsistent. While this is probably a glitch, it’s actually a good mechanic. It forces him to stay near his turret. I’d love to see it left in and improved, so long as the cooldown is more than picking up an undamaged turret.
I also thing simply reversing the turret’s deploy direction would fix everything. You don’t even need to rotate it.

Maybe make him the only engineer who can access the mechanic perk too. Imagine how that would be, lol

“new players” dont like things that can shoot back

also, i agree that bushwhacker buff is very needed because his static sentry is getting outdated by the minute

(Eox) #5

Yeah. That turret needs something to be used more offensively and less predictably. Being able to slide that turret on a few meters like in the scrubs trailer could be really good.

I don’t think a straight DPS buff is the way to go, because the turret remains a 54-ish DPS weapon with aimbot. We don’t want people to rely too much on the turret for kills. Range increase could be fine tho.

Here’s an idea: Make Bushwhacker able to change the turret into a manned MG.

Then, there could also be more variety in builds, as Steady + Cool would be quite viable.

(JonBongNoJovi) #7

Heres a thought , leave Bush alone he isn’t the problem , what needs doing Proxy needs 1 less mine and Fletcher needs 1 less sticky and a slower speed

(JJMAJR) #8

The problem with Bushwhacker is that you would never want to pick him in offense nor defense. The only thing that sets up engineers now is their ability to dominate in offensive scenarios, which I disagree with.

I personally think engineers should be defensive with their skills and options outside of objective specialist, or have a defensive passive instead of objective specialist, like damage reduction when near a friendly deployable to put something far out there.

And from my experience alone, making a defensive passive is hard therefore making an engineer with defensive abilities would be better. It could be done though, but part of that process would mean phantom dies and Fletcher steals his cloaking technology, and then loses his TechNoob software subscription.

(GatoCommodore) #9

thats not a problem solving, youre just gonna ruin fletcher and proxy

we need bush turret buff and his moving speed matched with fletcher

Rather easy fix and it would make for much better placement!

(JonBongNoJovi) #11

Reversing the turret ? so basically standing with ya back to the enemy erm yeah

(Szakalot) #12

they could adapt from quake wars:

quick button deploys turret normally

using ‘4’ switches to rotate turret mode: one click confirm location, rotate with mouse and click again to deploy

(GatoCommodore) #13

So i learnt today Fletcher has a greater range than a turret ? How can this be right , hands down Bush is the most neglected merc in game at present

they just keep ignoring bush until he rot in some sewer in london.

then they proceed to buff vasilli again

(JonBongNoJovi) #16

Do Static Mg and the EV MG do more damage than the turret ?

If so would it be a viable option for the turret to behave the same with the same amount of damage and cooldown ?

(neverplayseriou) #17

jonbong please just come back once you reach lvl 10… (or 50)

and rotating the turret would be pointless since it’ll still easily get shredded by a burst rifle.

rotating the turret would be nice as far as increasing the variety of places one can hide it in.
